Former Florida governor Jeb Bush met Monday with a group of his former staffers at the J. W. Marriott hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, just steps from the White House. Bush, a potential 2016 presidential contender, spent an hour in the hotel’s Cannon room, reminiscing and entertaining questions about his political future.
In an interview with NRO, Bush did not rule out a presidential run. “I am here to catch up with folks and promote education reform,” he said, smiling.
When asked again whether he will issue a Sherman-type statement about his future, Bush remained coy. “We have an alumni group that I like keeping in touch with,” he said. “I’m here to focus on educational reform, and that’s what I’m going to tell people.”
Neil Newhouse, Mitt Romney’s campaign pollster, among other GOP operatives, was at the meeting.
On Tuesday, Bush will host a national summit on education reform. Education secretary Arne Duncan, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, and Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, among others, will speak at the event.

All Jeb has to do is promise the GOP that he can bring in more of the Latino vote than Rubio can. That’s all there is to it.

I'm sure Mr. McClintock is a great guy but Congressional Representatives have no business running for President. Sorry, but if you don't have "State Governor" somewhere on your resume, you're simply not qualified for the job.
I am surprised that the GOPe does not find a descendant of Herbert Hoover and run him or her for president.
We think alike. On another thread I suggested there might be a great-nephew or something, maybe a “Jeb Hoover,” we could run.
I'm starting to think the next GOP candidates will be running for election in a newly formed union of red states.

Forget the fact the GOP-E want him to run. The fact is simply this: The Bush family has become the Republican version of the Kennedy's.
I do not believe that Family/Political Dynasties are the right thing for this country. Just HELL NO from me.
While I'll NEVER vote for a Democrat for office, I'll vote third-party (preferably TEA Party) if Jeb Bush runs and "wins" the nomination.

He was a candidate as conservative as you are likely to find anywhere. Someone who “fearlessly championed” everything YOU believe in.

The Dems and the Liberal Media will never shut up about the “Bush failures”....and many Social Conservatives will stay home after Jeb Bush wimped out on Terri Schiavo and let her die....when he had the power and the authority to stop her government-mandated murder
If Bush gets the nomination, Obama will win a third term by his biggest landslide ever.
Since the Republicans ran such a lifeless campaign, and since the Bushes did not say a THING defending anything during all the 4 years obama and the media have slammed him and us.... and because of that.. we will have lost our nation... and they want to run another Bush? NO!
The good ole boys in the GOP don’t mind that the communist are taking over America as long as they can prostitute themselves into power. Bush needs to stay home, this makes me sick.

Exactly. Between 2010 and 2012, a fixation on “simon-pure” GOP candidates cost the Republicans 5 Senate seats they might otherwise have won easily. DE (2010) and IN (2012) are but 2 examples.
No freakin way...they are already trying to tell us who.what,where,when..nooooooooooooo go away!
