If the mid-western “bread basket of America” is in a five-year drought cycle, as some meteorologists fear, food will be very expensive. Do plant a garden next spring, and if you can, raise some chickens and a goat or two. Your family will be thankful you were so prescient.
I live in a place where stuff grows readily (N. FL), but if I had to feed my family from seeds, we’d be in big trouble. I can water flowers, but I seem to kill fruits and veggies mostly.
Or four...
I might be able to manage a small garden but a goat or two on the balcony will surely bring a knock at my door from the building superintendent.
How do goats do on an elevator ride by the way?
