Satan, and this evil central socialist government, has its claws in our families and is tearing apart our society. It all happend so slowly a little at a time. We need to turn back to prayer and God praying that this nation will return to the values that are not only pleasing to God, but will result in happy, well=adjusted families.

Magazines, tv commercials...food, cars, shampoo, toothpaste...you name it. Everything is about sex. We have become so desensitized..drip by drip.
Indeed, evil is rampant.

The thing I wonder is teen kids these days have their noses stuck in thier “phones” they aren’t just texting they aren’t just facebooking...

I have noticed that they get MAD if you tell them to put the “phone” down and communicate with the family or friends...

Porn is addicting and if you can’t get your “jones” you tend to get grumpy.. that’s all I’m saying.. Josh McDowell is prolly onto sumpin.

You’ve got it backwards.

It’s Christianity that’s a threat to porn.

In a way, porn is a chemical addiction (an addiction to those chemicals released into the pleasure center of the brain when one is aroused by porn).

Christianity is most likely the only way to break that addiction. The reason for this is that Christianity reveals the addiction and its destructive ways...and then offers the means of liberation from that Satanic trap (Christ's offer of Salvation and Liberation from sin).

The problem is much much worse than this.

Young people are not only exposed to it, but many are putting up pictures of themselves.

Don’t know about its being one of the greatest threats to Christianity, but to true Christians, it certainly would be a threat to one’s own purity (condition) and godliness (living) in the sight of our Lord. Seems to me that porn is a greater threat to those who are under Satan’s domain, tightening the grip that sin already has on the unbeliever.

Seems to me that the love of money (idolatry) is the root of all sorts of evil, as the Bible says, porn being one of the “all sorts of evil.”

Although it may seem like the “god of this world” is winning, that is not the truth. Revelation 12:7-12 describes his being thrown down to the earth at the end time and Revelation 20:1-3 & 7-10 describe the events leading up to and including his end. Until then the Bible says that sin and lawlessness will increase on the earth.

What should the Christian do? It’s on an individual basis: Confess and forsake sin, evil of all kinds, no matter how “small” the sin may seem. Flee from idolatry. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Be on the alert. Proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to this world of darkness. Yes, you will be persecuted and hated for doing so...increasingly so, as we are today witnessing. Our home is in heaven and He will come for us in His perfect timing. And an end is coming and the King of kings and Lord of lords is coming, described in Revelation 19:11-16.

What should the unbeliever do? Believe the truth—the gospel, the “good news” of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. He died to set people free from the bondage of sin, from death, and from the devil.

There is a life to live that honors God and His Christ, and God will empower us to live that life through His Holy Spirit, who is given to every person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. That life is lived through our faith (believing Him and His words) and in the power of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers permanently. We have been granted all things in Christ! Look up, believers! He is coming!

Glad to hear Josh is tackling this......he is dead-on target.....

I remember a story about David Wilkerson, when a man next to him on a flight saw him reading the Bible said, “I don’t believe that garbage...”

David said in response, “That means there is a moral sin in your life that you will not give up no matter what. Your rejection of scripture tells me that. Because if you dared to accept the authority of scripture, that means you’d have to accept its judgment of your sin and turn from it. And you are not willing to do that.” (or something close to that).

The man told David, “You are right.”

Porn is more addictive than any drug known, and more destructive. Destroys almost all normal human relationships as well as marriage. Men addicted to porn cannot love a woman with a self-less, sacrificial love as commanded in Ephesians.

Josh is 100% right in seeing it as the #1 enemy of both the gospel and Christians.....let’s pray his ministry in this area has impact and is effectual....

It would be far better to address the underlying reason that people are attracted to pornography: that as children and even as adults, they are disconnected from their peers of the opposite gender.

If you raise a dog apart from other dogs, it will still want to mate, but it will not know how to relate to other dogs, and see them as outsiders or enemies. Why should people be any different?

America has no effective way to socialize children of opposite genders in a chaperoned situation. Most people assume that such socialization happens either in school or in church, but it does not, because in both those places, adults ensure that children are kept busy doing other things. By the time of high school, or even junior high school, it is too late.

The way things are today, children are segregated until they are adults, then it is expected of them to “get a job, find a spouse, have children and live happily ever after.”

Of these, even getting a job is a huge obstacle, unless you are mentored, apprenticed or interned, etc. And yet you are expected to meet a stranger, develop a relationship, understand and relate to them enough to form a bond that lasts a lifetime, without experience or help? Oh, you should be able to do that in a few months.

Psychologically it is even worse than that. If a child is raised in a two parent family, as a bare minimum they at least have some exposure to their parents relationship as an example, though it is a third part exposure. But for a child raised by a single parent, they have nothing.

It is no surprise that people accept a dehumanized caricature of the other gender? What is pornography but that? No relationship, just lust and sex and go your separate ways. Certainly nothing approaching love or commitment, a lasting relationship or with reproduction in mind.

And it all goes back to young children having no idea about how the opposite gender thinks and feels, how they do things, what are their likes and dislikes, etc.

Such socialization must be forced, because if left to their own devices, children will self segregate by gender. But it must also be carefully chaperoned so that boys and girls do not bully each other, either.

But it is a cultural prerogative to bring this about, because otherwise you see what we have today: pornography, divorce, single parenthood, great ignorance and unhappiness with the other gender, abuse and mistreatment.

Here is a little of the lefts anti-Christian agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that modern science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography, openly, to the public at large, zero restrictions.

Thanks for the post about pornography’s dangers. What is a greater threat to Christianity, pornography or the crimes against children attributed to Christian churches, priests and other clergy? Please read:

Justice for missing native children: Protesters

Brett Clarkson, Toronto Sun
Sunday, February 7, 2010

A few dozen protestors rallied outside a pair of downtown churches Sunday morning to call attention to the thousands of children who went missing or died during Canada’s residential schools era.

Protestors, including former residential schools residents, gathered at Metropolitan United Church and then St. Michael’s Cathedral to demand accountability from the United and Catholic churches over its role in the residential school system that ripped native children from their families and in some cases subjected them to physical and sexual abuse.

“The churches have been exonerated basically for these children who died,” said Kevin Annett, of the advocacy group The Friends and the Relatives of the Disappeared....
