Lindsey Stone the Plymouth woman taking an online beating for posting a photo of herself flipping the bird at Arlington National Cemetery on Facebook has lost her job.
Lindsey resigned and we accepted her resignation, LIFE Inc. CEO Diane Enochs told the Herald tonight.
LIFE Inc. of Hyannis a Cape Cod nonprofit that helps adults with special needs announced tonight that Stone, along with the woman who snapped the offending photo, are not working there.
Ironically, the formal announcement was made on Facebook.

And firing the woman who took the photo, whats up with that? We cannot pick and choose what we consider correct and shut down others whose opinion we don't agree with, other wise we are no better than the dems and their political correct BS.
they also ensured that the US will become a third-world country by 2020...
30 years old and still challenging “authority”? Challenge it now, without money.
how does this action result in her being fired? ...Seriously, would have someone work for you that has illustrated she has no respect for anything but her challenging authority? You are the boss, she has already said YOU need challenged. YOU say “Do not steal office supplies”, so she walks off with all the toilet paper in the lady’s room, steals three reams of copying paper and has the camera operator punch her in and out while she never shows up for work. After all, she is just challenging authority.
She is 30 and she is still “challenging authority in general.” The only thing she has accomplished so far is determining that she and her friend are, indeed, douchebags.
I would love to know what schools she went to. Glad to see her now enrolled in The School of Hard Knocks.
But some wealthy ‘progressive’ will probably set her and her friend up in some phoney high-paying job and send them out on a “I’m Sandra Fluck, Pity Me” speaking tour, where she can be a champion of “free speech” and a combatant in this new battle in the “War on Douchebag Women.”
Exactly my feelings.
I didn't read this article she admitted to being a D-bag and posting another picture of of herself smoking next to a "No Smoking" sign.
GUILTY!
If they answered “yes” to having a Facebook page that meant they would not be hired since they had no common sense, right? ;-)

And employer has every right to hire or fire at their discretion. Do you really want someone with this negative notoriety representing your company to the public? What does that say about the judgment of the employer.
As an individual I have the right to hire and fire whomever I wish.
Think about the brave and ingenious folks who landed at Plymouth in the early 1600s—and compare them to this pathetic “edgy” present resident of Plymouth.
400 years—enough time to ascend to great heights and start the descent to crash and burn.
The government did not punish them.
Others decided that they did not want to associate with them.
You are right that we don’t want to be like the democrats and have the government jail someone for a year for posting a video, read making a political statement, Obama did not like.
You apparently do not understand the difference between private citizens freely associating or disassociating with whom they choose, and a government compelled by the First Amendment to tolerate any speech. Learn the difference. The constitution does not apply here. She fully exercised her right to express herself with no recriminations from the government. Her employer exercised their right of association. So just what is your problem here?
We wish to announce that the two employees recently involved in the Arlington Cemetery incident are no longer employees of LIFE. Again, we deeply regret any disrespect to members of the military and their families. The incident and publicity has been very upsetting to the learning disabled population we serve. To protect our residents, any comments, however well-intentioned, will be deleted. We appreciate your concern and understanding as we focus on the care of our community. It seems like they are a good organization that works with developmentally disabled adults, and they are trying as best they can to distance themselves from these two numbskulls.
She was on a business trip, paid for by her employer. She was supposed to be escorting approximately 40 residents, some being veterans. Which means she was representing her company on this trip. If I were her employer, this isn’t the type of representation I would want. Especially as a non-profit who likely depends greatly on fundraising.
