Tomb of the Unknown Soldier disrespect not tolerated

November 20, 2012 By: Scott Paulson

Taking the expression “some people just don’t think!” to a new level, Lindsey Stone thought she was being funny when she posted a picture of herself giving the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery "the finger" - the middle finger - while appearing to shout at the national memorial in October. After posting the pic to Facebook, somehow thinking her friends would enjoy the photo, she most definitely found out otherwise. As of Monday, the backlash has been severe for Stone.

Veterans Day: Top Ten Patriotic Songs

After the tremendously negative reaction to the photo, she Facebook-messaged on October 20:

"...What kind of poisonous atmosphere creates nitwits like this?..."

Liberalism.

If you read the article, she has this quote: "...Whoa whoa whoa… wait. This is just us, being the douchebags that we are, challenging authority in general..."

For liberals, this is the fruit of what they started in the Sixties, and they are damned proud of it.

I absolutely detest liberalism and everything it stands for. Hate it.

They didn’t start it in the sixties. The roots of progressivism i.e. socialism go back much further than that. Read Jonah Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism” to get idea of the beginnings of the socialist movement in the U.S.

I have a copy of the National Geographic Explorer documentary Arlington: Field of Honor, which chronicles the history and heritage of Arlington National Cemetery. There's a fifteen minute segment that deals with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Tomb Guards. It shows just a fraction of the rituals that they go through to honor those they watch over. This is actually my favorite part of the whole documentary. I have a great-uncle who is MIA from World War Two, so this has a personal connection for me.

A few months ago I let one of my coworkers borrow the DVD. When he brought it back, he said that segment was he least favorite, for he could not understand the military's obsession with rituals. I almost felt sorry for him, because that really shows a lack of understanding and comprehension about the military and its heritage.

Ha! So right! Th whole “better to keep on’s mouth closed and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt” concept is quite foreign to them.

That is true, but I am talking about the anti-social brand of radicalism that we first saw in the Sixties as described by David Horowitz.

Nonprofit worker fired after photo scandal at Arlington National Cemetery

Published November 22, 2012

| FoxNews.com

The Massachusetts woman at the center of the Facebook photo scandal at Arlington Cemetery has been fired from her job at a Cape Cod business, MyFoxBoston.com reports.

Lindsey Stone’s employer, Living Independently Forever (LIFE), issued a statement on their Facebook page on Wednesday announcing that they have released the two employees involved in the controversial incident.

“We wish to announce that the two employees recently involved in the Arlington Cemetery incident are no longer employees of LIFE. Again, we deeply regret any disrespect to members of the military and their families.”

LIFE plans to delete any and all comments regarding the incident from their page in an effort to protect their residents, even if the comments were well-intentioned.
