WASHINGTON — David H. Petraeus, the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, told lawmakers on Friday that classified intelligence reports revealed that the deadly assault on the American diplomatic mission in Libya was a terrorist attack, but that the administration refrained from saying it suspected that the perpetrators of the attack were Al Qaeda affiliates and sympathizers to avoid tipping off the groups.
Mr. Petraeus, who resigned last week after admitting to an extramarital affair, said the names of groups suspected in the attack — including Al Qaeda’s franchise in North Africa and a local Libyan group, Ansar al-Shariah — were removed from the public explanation of the attack immediately after the assault to avoid alerting the militants that American intelligence and law enforcement agencies were tracking them, lawmakers said. . .

The scandal here is that the President of the United States left 41 people to die at the hands of terrorists. Luck for them there were a few former SEALS among them, or they would all be dead, not just the SEALS, the ambassador and another diplomat.
The President could have ordered a rescue operation from outside the country, that would have had a high probability of success. Knowing full well that these Americans were under terrorist attack - the POTUS refused to authorize their rescue. That is why, Petraeus, Ham, the Admiral in the Med carrier group were all fired. They wanted, perhaps even resigned over not being permitted to launch the rescue. They were ready.

When he decided to come clean Obama fulfilled his threat and revealed the affair in retaliation.

I’ve asked that question for weeks to folks on Freeper, Twitter and Gretawire. And it has always felt like those Folks they rescued are off limits when discussing Benghazi. And NOBODY talks about them. A parent of one of the murdered four in Benghazi has said that he received an email from one of the 30 folks who were rescued, saying without their son and the other guys coming to rescue them at the embassy, they would have been dead and that they owe these rescuers a huge debt of gratitude. So, where are these 30 folks now? Are they being sequestered at a “Safe House” here or in some other country. Why aren’t they speaking out??? Why in the heck doesn’t Fox ask this question?

Patraeus isn’t helping get the truth out. Disappointing. Given the fact that it’s two months later, and the people who perpetrated this haven’t been captured or killed in retaliation, how does the Zero Admin expect Americans to believe this...?
They really expect people to buy into the story that we were so on to them back then, that we, in turn, publicly pretended to be ignorant of the actual situation in the oft case any terrorists watching Meet the Press would get a false sense of hope that they got away with it...? If we were on to them back then, we would have caught them by now.

You have wonder why the powers that be in the Beast on the Potomac wanted that ambassador dead. They may have wanted some or all of the security team dead as well, but that is always easier to arrange. They wanted the ambassador dead as Vince Foster.
