Tell them:
“Okay - Texas grants your petition. Pack it up and leave the state.”

Austin is a case. It’s a libertarian/communist (a match made in Ayn Rand heaven hell) mess, surrounded by normal people. It is where alex and vam jones come to consensus.

Hi, Tick,
Cue Fiona: “Can we shoot them?” (”Burn Notice”)
I think Fiona is da bomb. Especially that line. Gets me every time.

Since when is the peoples right to petition for political redress considered "inane secessionist babble"? Private citizens set forth a petition because we are pi$$ed with the route the federal government has taken.
This "counter-petition" is more in the line of Jr High stupidity than the original petition. This thread is making fun of the stupidity of the counter-petition. Personally, I wouldn't think twice if Austin isolated itself. Maybe the rest of us could get a break from their BS.

Let them go and charge tolls on all roads out of Austin and deny them air space.
Good riddance, I say.

I say we ship all the libs out of Austin to CA or NY or another liberal city and retake it as a conservative city. Yeah, I know - good luck with that.

Yeah—I wish.
Austin used to be one of my favorite places to visit. Having been born in Smithville, and spending the summers there with my grandparents and my aunt, I got to know Austin pretty well, as my aunt would drive me over quite often to shop. (There was not much between Austin and Bastrop at that time.)
My heart would soar when I could first spot the Capitol!
Do you remember that until recent years, no building could be built in such a way that it would be higher than, or block the view of the Capitol from any direction?
