Two public school teachers are facing investigations for posting messages that some perceived as critical of President Obama on social networking sites.
In Rock Hill, SC, a middle school teacher was placed on leave after she posted a message on her personal Facebook page about President Obama and food stamps.
Congrats Obama, she allegedly wrote. As one of my students sang down the hallway, We get to keep our food stamps which I pay for because they cant budget their money and really, neither can you.
A school spokesperson said they had received several calls complaining about the eighth grade math teacher at Rawlinson Road Middle School. The teacher has apologized.
A school official told Fox News that the complaints originated from pro-Obama supporters outside the school.
People outside the school system that saw her posting and some of them said they were offended by it, spokesperson Elaine Baker said. She used poor judgment according to our social media policy. Teachers are kept to higher standards.
Baker said teachers and school employees should watch what they post on Facebook to be careful.

The Rise of the Third Reich.
Heaven forbid that a teacher have an opposing opinion. Guess teachers will just have to post anonymously.
They will be in prison right next to all the teachers who incorporated anti-Bush material into their curriculum! May they rot in jail!!!! lol
They need to get their mind right.
What a laugh. The Teacher's Union is all over this. It would be really nice if teacher's were held to higher teaching standards.
And...linked at the bottom of that news piece, I found this...
Funny, a Philly Poll had a mural of Bambi and that was OK.
They will surely be fired while the teachers in Maine who teach middle school kids about homosexual sex and Saran wrap keep theirs. Heck, they’ll probably be promoted.
When did bad mouthing an American hating President, on a social networking site, become the purview of the employer?
Thought Crime not to support Dear Leader. But urging 11 year olds to have sex is “sex-ed”.
Publik skoolz need to be abolished.
My mom is a teacher; I’ve read comments from her colleagues on Facebook. They are endlessly political. Moreover, I’ve read mail from the union. They literally come out and explicitly tell her how to vote.
“teachers are held to higher standards”..???
Like bussing kids to Obama rallies... singing songs about how wonderful Obama is and stuff like that??
However, had these teachers boasted about their latest sexual escapades with underage students after school, nobody would say anything probably.
The truth hurts
I’m curious, unless those who reported her were her friends, how did they see what she posted on her Facebook?
And, IMO, it’s her right to post what she wants, as long as she’s not hurting anyone or inciting violence, etc. Posting ones opinions would fall under, oh, I don’t know, THE FIRST AMENDMENT!!!
F those stupid parents. I know if my sons teacher posted anti-Romney stuff, I wouldn’t care. I would just be more mindful of what was being taught in the classroom (or have him moved to a diff teacher if I knew opinions were being indoctrinated into the lesson plans). Stupid people and their “offended” PC bullcrap. Get over it!!!
And good on these teachers for speaking out against “The One”. F him too!!!
Never post your stuff on Facebook if you friend students and or parents. It is a recipe for disaster.
The Left of America would be first in line to support the Salem Witch Movement as long as the “witches” were Republicans.
ESAD, you #ing Nazis.
