A White House petition gathering force calls for citizenship to be stripped and exile for anyone who signs a petition in favor of a state's secession.

"Mr. President, please sign an executive order such that each American citizen who signed a petition from any state to secede from the USA shall have their citizenship stripped and be peacefully deported," the full petition reads.

The title of the petition is, "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Strip the Citizenship from Everyone who Signed a Petition to Secede and Exile Them."

As of this writing, 2,205 have signed the petition; 22,795 more signatures are needed for the issue to be addressed by the White House.

Given the people signing this [likely] aren’t governmental higher-ups it’s more like a case of the slaves keeping the other slaves in line.

It is good to know that it takes 25,000 signatures for an issue to be addressed by the White House.

How long would it take to gather 50,000 signatures to demand that the president issue an Executive Order reminding petty totalitarians both within the Executive Department and government-supported communist groups outside of government, of the importance of the First Amendment?

As far as the ship, I know of a shipwreck by that name on Diamond Shoals at the Outer Banks of NC, but it’s too recent.

Could be the very loose spelling of the era, might want to look for names that sound somewhat like that. Could be error, or could be that he really didn’t care to make known how he got here and it’s fanciful.

Had an instance of that with a different line, just could not make any headway. Sheer happenstance, I found he was transported, then achieved a certain standing after he got through his term of indenture and was just embarrassed I guess. Nothing to be embarrassed about if so, imho.

However, my search regarding this ship indicates it was built in 1884. I’m not finding any further information that indicates why this is in error.

I am not an expert on any subject in this thread, but I have read a lot of history of all kinds, and know that ship names from ancient history to the present, have always been recycled.

Nothing really unusual about two ships with the same name 200 years apart.

Well, wontbackdown, my folks stepped onto the Virginia shore from HMS Godspeed in the year 1607. We’ve been here 405 years and I plan on being here for a while longer.
