IRVING, Texas Hostess Brands Inc. is permanently closing three bakeries following a nationwide strike by its bakers union. The Texas-based maker of Twinkies and Ding Dongs says the strike has prevented it from producing and delivering products. Hostess warned earlier this month that the strike, by about 30 percent of its workforce, could lead to bakery closures. It said Monday that it will close bakeries in Seattle, St. Louis and Cincinnati that collectively employ 627 workers. The company has about 18,300 employees. One more time ....boo frickin’hoo! Sorry I lost all sympathy for the enemy the night Obama won re-election....well no it was well before that.
I hope the union gets battered right out of existence. I’d say it kneads to happen.
Hmm.. hard to imagine which side the pResident and bridezilla are going to fall here.
BO should side with the Union (but who cares, he ain’t runnin’ again), but bridezilla should fall on the ‘less junk food’ argument.
Still amazing how someone with a beam as broad as that can try to lecture on diet....UNLESS, of course she fesses up she been piggin’ out for years....
So guess time to pull up an easy chair and start munchin’ popcorn....
Hostess filed Chapter 11 and the leaches still want to bleed them dry. This is what the leaches have done and will continue to do to our country. They do no care.

The Ding Dongs got a cupcake of a deal and more dough in their pension plan that the Twinkies didn’t but this Twinkie strike could snowball into a lot of the other 36 plants closing or even the company shutting down. I doubt that the Ding Dongs will let it happen.
Presidential Summit .... Ding Dongs and Twinkie’s aplenty !
Several years ago a Kaiser ? Alcoa? aluminum plant closed in Spokane, WA. A reporter interview a union worker, about 40ish father etc. The man was crying, literally, and saying that they, the brotherhood had put so much into that plant, he could not believe that it was actually closing. He told how he and the other had fought management and had be on strike three times. . . I quit listening to his sorry ass lament and I wished his children well.
GOOD!
This is a GOOD thing!
The more strikes the better.
These folks most likely voted for President Obama and are simply expressing their fervent desire for better working conditions and higher pay. Isn't this what President Obama says America needs? Aren't those evil white guys who operate factories that actually produce something here in America oppressing all those working class people? Keeping their pay low, not giving them a "living wage", not giving them decent "health care"? Yes, closing those factories is a GOOD thing! That will teach those evil white male oppressors that they can't get away with employing people. Besides all that stuff they bake makes people fat anyway.
ALL HAIL OBAMA!
I hope their union is happy. But they will just blame big bad business, as usual. For all the talk of ‘compromise’, they are the LAST ones to do their ‘fair share’. And this is what it gets them. Choke on it.
I always thought that their slogan should've been, "Come on you sonsabitches, do you want to live forever?"
Marines will get this. :-)
“Atlas Shrugged”
Hostess Shrugged. Twinkies no more.
Striking themselves out of a job. Brilliant! Nothing, I mean, nothing, says ‘stupid’ like ‘Obama Voter’.
Hmmm
think nayone paid attention that the plants closing are in union states?
none of the plants in right to work states were closed
I remember that! We had a contractor over at Imperial Sugar, and when they closed the doors the wailing and nashing of teeth was tremendous.
(Our contractor was IT, not union.) :-)
Everybody who has a job should keep that job in this environment.
Damn straight!
They were the most obnoxious gang I have ever seen.. They not only had a picket line, they were stopping traffic with petitions that they shoved in your car window demanding you to sign it or they wouldn’t let you pass.. WELLLLLLL, it wasn’t pretty, most of the drivers threw it back at them, but that didn’t dissuade them..
They were back out there the next day.. When the announcement was made, the police had to come out and stop them from breaking all of the windows, and burning the huge tower down.. it was a sight to behold.. LOL
How’d that whole strike thing work for you, maggots?!?
