And I believe Obama’s margin of victory in Ohio currently stands at more than 100,000 — which means that whoever called Ohio for Obama when it was only a 10,000-vote difference obviously knew what they were talking about. I’m sure that possibility never even crossed Rove’s mind.

If you know where the votes are coming from it's possible to do that ~ some areas vote heavily Rep or heavily Dem ~ if you are watching the numbers add up and nothing is coming in from the Rep districts yet, that means they have yet to be reported ~ and vice versa.

The Cleveland area, which always votes Commie, reported only half their usual precincts early on ~ so towards the end there hundreds of thousands of Cleveland votes were not yet reported. When they were finally sent in, it was clear that Cleveland had gone Commie again.

Short of a plague of some kind, or a thermonuclear warhead hitting the area, Cleveland is going to continue to be that way election after election. You can count on it ~
