Just two days after President Obamas re-election, the Obama Interior Department announced a plan to shut down 1.6 million acres of federal land to oil shale development. The land had originally been slated for drilling under President George W. Bush.
By significantly reducing the acreage of wilderness potentially available for leasing, Secretary Salazar is laying out a creative, thoughtful and more responsible approach in managing some of our most precious resources, said Bobby McEnaney, senior lands analyst with the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Obamanation Communism File.
Under the plan, 677,000 acres in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming would be open for oil shale exploration. Another 130,000 acres in Utah would be set aside for tar sands production.
Killing the energy industry and killing economies in western states. Huge jobs killer.
That fact alone leaves you feeling sick. Now we’re going to see more money pumped into worthless solar and green energy technologies rather than investing in ready made energy sources like coal, natural gas, and oil. Are you all ready for another few billion wasted on more Solyndra-type businesses? The American people deserve so much better but what can you do when half the population have their heads shoved up their you know what.
ehhh.. just setting it aside for the New Overlords.
makes ya wonder tho.. little by little this nation is being strangled.
Yup. Saving their souls while killing our Liberty.
I’m still not convinced my soul is in jeopardy even though I don’t believe the same things they do.
One of us or none of us is right. They are only happy when they are persecuted and others are suffering for their “wickedness”.
If nothing else our president is consistent, destructively so.
Second debate
MS. CROWLEY: I OK. We’ll you certainly will have lots of time here coming up. I because I want to move you on to something that sort of connected to cars here, and go over and we want to get a question from Philip Tricolla.
Q: Your energy secretary, Steven Chu, has now been on record three times stating it’s not policy of his department to help lower gas prices. Do you agree with Secretary Chu that this is not the job of the Energy Department?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “The most important thing we can do is to make sure we control our own energy.
“So here’s what I’ve done since I’ve been president. We have increased oil production to the highest levels in 16 years. Natural gas production is the highest it’s been in decades. We have seen increases in coal production and coal employment.”
What he doesn’t say is where oil production has been increased. He has been investing our money in oil exploration in drilling in south America and other places, so they can sell it to the neo-colonialists, while fighting and resisting domestic oil and gas discovery and production, as in this article.
Now contrast this to his own statements during the 2nd debate.
Don’t think this is really a surprise to anybody but not to worry we’re still drilling like crazy here in West Texas.
Maybe it is collateral for the loans we are taking out?
