Everyone saw this coming. Dianne Feinstein, the Democratic Senator from California and co-sponsor of the USA PATRIOT Act extension, has been rumored to be meeting with ATF officials in the past few days and trying to come up with an outline for her next attempt at passing a new assault weapons ban. It seems like she does this once a year anyway, but in the wake of the Obama re-election people are on high alert for anything gun control related. And this time, it seems like all that practice of introducing failed legislation is leading to a more disturbing version of the bill…
David Codrea at the Examiner received the following tip from a source inside the NSSF:
I just heard that Sen. Feinstein’s attorney is meeting right now with folks from FTB and ATF legal (Eric Epstein [legal], Todd Martin [Legal] and Earl Griffith [FTB] and others) to discuss a new SAW ban, that she would want to start pushing through as soon as (if) Obama gets reelected.
- – No pistol grip allowed - – No HC Mags - – No grandfathering - – No sale permissible if in possession

Should be interesting to see if all the 10 or so states that passed Firearms Freedom Acts (repudiates federal regulation of guns in intrastate trade) really meant it or if it was all for symbolism. A couple of those state laws even provide that it’s a state crime for a federal LEO to attempt to enforce within the state any of the federal laws so repudiated.
Posturing. The bill would have absolutely no chance in the House.
No grandfathering? Sounds unconstitutional when you’re talking about ownership of property.

I use to think that about a lot of crazy ideas that have come to pass.

It would be interesting to know how many NRA members voted for Obama. I suspect that the number would be surprising......

Yes, they sure are. This is what people don't get in all the tough talk of how they plan to fight back. I like to talk and think tough too, as I am not planning on going to the Communist death and concentration camps the way my parents and most relatives had to. But when they turn their electronics on us, I don't know how to block that.
It's the third, fourth, tenth or 15th I best most people have been waiting on. It's hard to make every gun purchase a possibly to-be-banned weapon. Personally I *like* lever action guns and revolvers, so I need to pace to include those as well.
It was 475 brand new. Now to get a few 20 round clips before the hammer comes down.
