Judge [Jim] Crow denies Allen West's motion in Palm Beach County. He says West motion is "premature" since no the election has no official results yet; also says the legislature, not courts, sets election procedures.
A Palm Beach County circuit court hearing on Republican U.S. Rep. Allen Wests motion to impound ballots and voting machines is scheduled for noon today.[snip] West filed a similar motion in St. Lucie County.

Thanks! As an outsider I would not have figured Palm. Broward, yes, I remember it from Bush’s election and don’t know Dade.
Oh no! Is Daytona in any of those 3 counties? My daughter is going there Monday and will be renting a car when arriving. Will I ever stop worrying but would like to warn her on what to expect.
OH! Thanks for the correction to post 69.
I’ve been wondering if Romney was being diligent and checking those states out. I can’t see why not, voter fraud is in play.
Thank you. How do they get away with allowing voters to vote whenever, even when the polls close. I’m baffled!
Like the Carolina’s are - North and South. I wasn’t aware of this problem, it’s good info. I’ll drawn the line on my own map. ;)
AMEN!
Speaker? Ha!
I’d like to see him as our next president!
Couldn;t careless if we do not get the decision that night as long as my vote is counted
After watching that HBO movie (thanks George) I find it merely confirms my suspicions about the computerization of the vote. As ably demonstrated, it isn't who votes that count - it's who counts the votes; thank you Stalin!
Getting back to paper is the way to go, but there needs to be some additional restrictions placed for that to work effectively. It may be better to go to all mail-in ballots, and restrict the announcements of the totals to the next day or week.
Thanks. You made it sound as if West made the decision on his own to move from FL22 to FL18, but as you restated it was the GOP hierarchy doing the shift. I doubt that he would have had any support trying to not follow their request, little that he gets anyway.
Go watch that movie at #99 - we’re all getting screwed!
Same in Va if we could get rid of 3 counties would be an entirely different state in voting. They have a lot of money so I doubt that would ever happen.
I also think they were stealing votes and waiting like you say to come up with any number they needed. Of course the R’s don’t care so nothing will be said about it. The black areas of the state Norfolk and Richmond, God only knows what was going on there.
And they re-elected Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Can’t get any dumber than that. Florida is a lost cause except the panhandle. Maybe Alabama can annex them.
Yes, the decision really was pushed by the GOP hierarchy. Allen West won my district, #22 by 8 points in 2010. It is not true that this district was hard democrat. Clay Shaw was in office here for 12 terms but was a casualty of the 2006 GOP wipeout. West restored it and would have been well served to stay here. I still am upset that the hierarchy did not put him up for the senate seat. Ultimately, it was fear of Allen West as a very strong, very vocal conservative. Instead we got Mack and he was dismal.
BTTT It is clearly partisan against Bush, but the reality is that both parties can, and clearly WILL use it.

After you watch this you might wonder what this lady is doing still alive.
I do.
But even if we can prove that our country and states have been stolen from us, what are we going to DO about it?
What CAN we do about it?””
May God keep watch.
Tatt
St Luci county in south FL had over a 140% turnout and yet we still get freepers posting utter crap about how we did to get a turn out
We got the turn out, our counts as we have found were not counted and they did massive fraud and 4 years of prepping for this
my county and it was like this in all republican areas so the media try and tell us less poeple voted for Romney, no it;s those 3 counties in the south east which are Dems which ruin this state.
So true.
Once you hit Riviera Beach in certain sections, then Lauderdale, Miami etc there are sections that look just like a NE city.....and they vote like one.
Even the Posh Boca Raton has areas that would make you think you are in
slum land...
DOES My county look lost and I’m not in the panhandle\
try to understand please that we have 3 big Dem counties in the south which are corrupt, FL is a republican state

we’re in the north east and all the north east went Romey like mine too
*BUMP*
Neither the Dems of the GOP like an “uppity” black man. The GOP has done everything they can to kneecap West because he tells it like it is and has no tolerance for the weaklings and compromisers in the Republican “leadership”. He is a threat to their comfortable life in Washington and had to be stopped. And Mia Love was viewed as another West in the making so she was left with little support. Just imagine had the millions wasted on futile efforts in Michigan and Pennsylvania been spent on the races in Florida and Utah.
RIP GOP in Florida, as state becoming true blue
November 8, 2012
Florida once again proved to be the key to victory for President Obama.
Even though the results were extremely close and were still in contention the morning after, the fact that Mitt Romney could not win the state outright early and extensively was one of the major contributing factors to his losing the Presidential election.
Sure, the demographics of the state made it a true bellwether of the nation’s political being and the practical tie in the vote for president in Florida reflected the predicted tightness of the popular vote nationwide but there’s much more to read in those numbers.
The Republican Party in Florida proved it’s comatose, if not outright dead, as a consequential influence in state politics by not delivering an economically crippled Florida in a big way to the Romney camp.
The failure of the GOP to capture Florida for Romney was only one of its failings.
The party’s inability to capture a Senate seat from a mediocre incumbent running in a state with a weak economy and to protect a number of its incumbents and candidates (and rising stars) in what were or should have been very close races in state, congressional and local races in Democratic-centric South Florida is a nothing less than a political catastrophe.
Looking at the results, they showed that the Tally-centric Republican Party of Florida is an ineffective, outdated, out of touch political machine which has failed once again to meet the challenges of the demographic changes in Florida, particularly the influx of Puerto Ricans from the northeast into the I-4 corridor and the conversion of younger Cubans to the Democratic brand in Miami-Dade County.
And as much as the state reflected the mood of the country, in both state and national politics, the election results accentuated the debilitating influence in GOP ranks of social-centric fanatics driven by Biblical dogma and extreme, xenophobic right wing ideology that have driven out necessary and important moderate influences that used to make the party attractive to the middle of the road Americans or the Florida residents receiving food stamps.
The RPOF remains stuck in sinking mud in the Terry Schiavo era of Florida politics, more consumed with its petty fight with former turncoat Gov. Charlie Crist than getting political candidates representing a broad spectrum of political thought elected to office.
The election showed its failed focus remains on crusading on Christian social issues and protecting a small, but extremely powerful rich super constituency of millionaires and powerful insurance, agriculture and finance lobby.
They spent more time pushing a bloated ballot containing too many right wing social and economic issues and continuing the fight to limit early voting rather than concentrating on tough races in South Florida involving rising stars in its ranks like Allen West, Adam Hasner, and Ellyn Bogdanoff.
And the results reflected the impotency and insignificance of the unpopular Republican Gov. Scott he’s the unpopular GOP “leader” of the state that Romney had to shun.
President Obama’s success has truly shown that Florida is no longer a battleground state.
Florida is no longer a red, southern state, but instead second New York State, a Democratic stronghold where a large minority of its citizens believes in the concept of Federal supremacy and subsists on the largesse of big government
As a result, Florida has now become yet another given Democratic state in terms of electoral votes as much as other states with very significant numbers like California, New York, and New Jersey. The failure in last two presidential elections of the RPOF to deliver the state’s 29 votes reflects that new political reality.
Between New York, California, and now Florida, a huge obstacle of the Republican Party in any future presidential race is the fact its candidate starts out of the gate over 100 electoral votes behind because huge Democratic majorities and the nonexistence of viable Republican parties in these states.
In his concession speech after losing a tough race, moderate Massachusetts Governor Scott Brown stated: “There are no obstacles that can’t be overcome and defeat is only temporary.”
Last night’s results showed that unless there’s an earthquake in Tallahassee, the defeat is eternal and Republican Party is dead in Florida.
