Boehner: Obamacare is law of the land, Ryan not the GOP leader ("slept like a baby" after Obama won)

WASHINGTON In a wide-ranging interview, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said raising tax rates is unacceptable, vice presidential nominee Paul D. Ryan is not the new leader of the GOP and the reelection of President Obama means the nations new healthcare law is the law of the land.
Boehner spoke to ABC News Diane Sawyer on Thursday, his first post-election interview as the divided Congress prepares to negotiate with the White House over the scheduled year-end tax hikes and spending cuts that economists fear will put the economy back in a recession.
Im the most reasonable, responsible person here in Washington, said Boehner, who is expected to remain speaker in the new House Republican majority. The president knows it. He knows that he and I can work together. The elections over. Now its time to get to work.
-snip-
The Ohio Republican said he called it quits at about 11:15 p.m. on election night once Romney was poised to lose, but still slept like a baby.

Cautious, measured, mild mannered, steeped in decorm...That's exactly the reason you need to go.
We need someone with a fire in their belly, somebody a little steely-eyed, unpredictable and dangerous looking, totally unafraid of pissing somebody off. Someone like Col Allen West?

He is the only one we have in DC with any power on our side. Power which he pisses away at every opportunity.
He has not "moved the ball in our direction" at all.
The balance of power has changed little in this election. Reid claims a mandate. Boehner says "We're ready to be led"!!!!!
That's his beginning position! The guy is incompetent or batting for the other side. HE HAS GOT TO GO!
He has not been effective. His position is indefensible.

With all due respect, boehner was telling all of us to our faces that Cut, Cap and Balance was the only thing on the table... mcconnell concurred... and at the same exact time... he was trying to cut a secret deal with nancy pelosi, harry reid and obama... and he and cantor held private meetings with them... they failed and eventually the result led to the Super Committee and the sequestration disaster. He is a political animal... out for personal gain and power. He needs to go and Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the Conservative media are going to take him on. Both did today. We swore to hold their feet to the fire in 2010 and nothing has changed.

It looks to me like all of theses comments were directed, not at Sawyer, but at the knuckle-draggers (endearing term Bohner used to describe the Tea Party) and conservatives. He is basically telling us HE is going to run the GOP and screw anyone who says different. And, regarding Obama being elected, he says GOOD!!!! I am still leading the GOP. What makes Bohner reasonable....he is willing to capitulate to anything the Kenyan demands. We are so...f..screwed!
To: OneWingedShark
West might just be perfect... he needs to tell us his plans for obamacare first.

LOL. We are dead-enders at this point. I have no problem voting for dims in 2014 if the two stooges slobber on Barry and try to snow us with some “bipartisan” BS deal. Boehner has no idea the dynamite he is sitting on.

Ryan may be too much of a gentleman and thinking ahead to a run on his own. He’ll want to make waves but not a tsunami.

Yeah and he needs to be replaced with someone competent who has some balls so that power can be put to good use and not wasted away (in margaritaville)

What a puke. This is our firewall.

We need a new Speaker.

Enough of this guy and Mitch McConnell. I’m tired of these establishment Republicans rolling over like dogs for this president. As Rush and others have said we’re outnumbered by the freeloader element and instead of finding common ground we might as well go all out against them and go out with a bang. The country is probably lost so why not?
