As ABC News reports, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has confirmed that the House GOP will no longer attempt to repeal Obamacare. When asked about the future of the health care reform law, Boehner said the election changes that and Obamacare is the law of the land.

Every time you see or hear from one of those 3 million folks that stayed home, be sure to thank them for this and the many other gifts headed our way.
I think the Republicans should give the Democrats everything they want. Don’t fight a thing. Let them raise taxes, open the borders, raise the debt ceiling, force Catholic hospitals to pay for abortions, etc. Let’s see where we are in four years.
They said the same thing about Prohibition in 1928.
1.) I am of the opinion that SOME of the legal efforts not yet decided will help us a great deal.
a.) Conscience Clause, contraceptive/abortion mandates, when the “intent” of Congress was that such would not happen by “executive order” remember?
b.) The “State Exchanges” are an integral part of Obamcare, and many States will refuse to implement these exchanges on their own. Their really isn't a funding method to fund much of Obamacare without these “State Exchanges” is there? The “Default” program, the Fed program, has no funding vehicle. The House is not likely to provide such funding.
2.) GIVEN THE ABOVE, there is SLIM chance that the House Republicans have something up their sleeves. We can FOLLOW THE LAW, OBAMACARE IS THE LAW, and we can still stop much of what the libs want, BECAUSE THAT IS THE LAW!
Yes, that would've been okay, too. Probably better.
My point above was just to let him acknowledge the truth....
As Obama says we don’t need no stinking law. F Boehner and the republican party.
Yeah but prohibition is different. Obamacare will add millions upon millions of people to the government dependency.
Those people.. much like the Obamaphone lady will never give up those benefits and will fight tooth and nail to keep them.
And once they have those benefits anyone proposing to repeal Obamacare will be called heartless, racist, etc.
Nice try.
The House could have defunded it. They chose not to because of the storm that would follow. Oh, not over the law itself, but that Democrats would have attached it to something else considered politically untenable.
As to Romney...give me a break. His would be Chief of staff supported it and Romney refused to say he’d repeal all of it.
Republicans had no intention of following through. they were just hoping they could milk the issue toward another 2010 win. well, not enough people bought into the fairytale they constructed this time.
That's what I'm talking about. Give them everything they want. ALL the corporations will move overseas.
Interesting times are turning into hellish times at quite a pace. Where will we be a month from now?
To paraphrase Clint Eastwood, Boehner’s just not doing the job, and we’ve got let him go.
They need to elect Paul Ryan as the new speaker NOW.
That's what so many said about legalized abortion.
Many of them are dead now - old age.
You don't think private insurance companies will keep their doors open and wait for that day to come do you? There will be no other alternatives as time goes by. People will not trust such a big change.
Good luck with that now. Making abortion illegal will actually be easier. We missed our chance to repeal it on tuesday. We lost. It's hear to say.
Honestly, what do you expect him to say? Elections have consequences.
It was passed by the Senate and the House.
It was upheld by the Supreme Court.
The country voted the President who signed it back in for another four-year term.
That's it, as far as the legislature is concerned. At least for now.
There will be many consequences of this bill, and some of those can be litigated or legislated over. But the law is the law. We missed our last chance to stop it two days ago.
That's life.
Unlike the Senate (Majority Leader), the House Speaker need not be a current rep. If Boner is gonna keep acting boneheadish, and no current rep wants to step up to the plate, then they can elect a speaker from outside the house... Maybe Allen West, for example, while he fights his close election - someone like him would be a great speaker.
Please consult your doctor if you experience a Boehner lasting more than four years as Speaker. It could be fatal to your health.
Now we have the sequestration battle that will probably involve some nefarious bookkeeping without reducing spending. Hell, if we can't cut $100 billion a year out of a $3.7 trillion dollar annual budget for the next ten years, how the Hell are we ever going to cut spending?
I'll tell you what he should say. He should say "Mr. President, you may feel you have a mandate after this election but it pales next to the mandate you ignored when you rammed Obamacare down the American people's throat. It was a huge mandate, 70% of the people, and you didn't care.
And they still don't want it by much bigger margins that your election. So we'll honor that mandate and keep trying to stop Obamacare for the people, for the majority of American people.
Precisely. There are consequences to an election. Frankly, I think Boehner is giving them exactly what they voted for, I’m loving it.
