Not bad ideas guys but, we also have to think big picture here. The demographics of this country are changing and in order to build a conservative majority we absolutely have to make minorities feel comfortable in this party.

I was listening on the radio today and a black man was talking about how Voter ID, Immigration Reform, Welfare reform drive minorities away who may otherwise be attracted to our economic message due to the racist undertones of such policies.

Don’t get all upset. I was offened by this suggestion, too. The last thing I think about when I support these ideas is racism. But, apparently minorities see everything through the prism of race. To be honest, I’m thinking mostly about fiscal responsibility and national integrity with these items. Nevertheless, our minority brothers and sisters (blacks, asians, hispanics) are inferring something nefarious when that is the last thing being implied.

Our mission over the next several years should be to do a better job of welcoming minorities into the conservative party and make sure we do a better job of explaining how our policy ideas help everyone. On the flip side, we also need to keep explaining how the policies of the left have done minorities no good over the last 60 years.

The bottom line is the conservative movement won’t survive unless we can get minorities on board. We need to step up and get these folks on board helping us.

You belong with the Ruling Class GOP-e.

We have ALREADY surrendered and compromised what Conservative values we had to ‘reach out’ to those who are going to vote Marxist/Socialist no matter what Conservatives do to the point the GOP stands for NOTHING but a status quo.

We’re done with that. We lost yesterday BECAUSE the GOP has done exactly what idiocy you are advocating now. Reach-out = compromise and surrender.

The GOP can pound sand, we’re done compromising. It’s time to stand, or die in the process of standing.

You can go lick the palms of your GOP-e Ruling Class masters and pound sand along with them.

Blacks will never come over. And Voter ID will prevent more vote fraud than the honest number of minorities that would feel as that guy did. It’s just a lame excuse as they’ve been brainwashed by their white overlords. With each election we see the racial divide more and more. We should be reaching out to Democrats of all races, not engaging in alienating racial pandering

California had a similar policy if I recall.
It seemed to work out well didn't it?

Your idea will work with many I'm sure of that. But how do we screen them out to get good results? There is a large large number of so called minorities that are addicted to handouts. Withdrawal will painful for all party's involved.

I concur except there is no Conservative party the GOP abandoned us years ago. I am a conservative independent voter. I decline to provide assistance to NJ and NY. They are Obama’s problem not mine. I will be involved in a very large food drive. Since I manage it the food will be recycled into our military community and not to NJ or NY. People want a nanny state let them have it. I will care for my family and myself and the rest may beg from Obama for all I care.

In theory you are absolutely correct. However real life experience is that it doesn’t work.

4 years ago I set out to do random acts of goodness, in inner cities. It grew into different ministries. I had the idea that it could really help transform lives- AND - help inform the voter about the truth.

I have seen a number of things. 1) The “black” community loves to hear the truth, and they are willing to talk and even find out about conservationism.

That is until 2) the black Democratic party machine shows up to get those people back on their knees.

If anyone every wants to get serious about the obamaphone voters, the democratic machine has to be taken apart, to allow people the chance to think for themselves.

Other minorities- I don’t know what to do with them. White women? They are Democrats because they are getting back at their daddies.

Then don't call them that. Keep in mind, liberals torture the language. Affordable Care Act anyone?

To wit we rename these as follows:
- VoterID -> United Nations Voter Standard

The UN observers were stunned at our "trust-based" system. A few suggestions could be found from them to bring our system up to "international standards". What liberal could resist getting in-line with suggestions from the UN observers?

- Immigration Reform -> Streamlining and Standardizing the US Immigration System

The current system is a mess, but 'reform' has a nasty bite to it. So we're just going to make it more efficient. After all, there are millions of people waiting in line, right? Don't even talk about the illegals.

- Welfare Reform -> Job Training and Placement Program

Sneaky, isn't it? Everyone wants a job, right? Who could object to such a thing?

Just some thoughts. There are some tactics the libs use that can be used to our advantage.

For once, why can't somebody counter their concerns by saying, "How would you feel if your vote was cancelled out by somebody who wasn't legal to vote?"

You are absolutely right.

Appearances count. We need to avoid appearances of evil, and the simple fact of the matter is that the Democratic Party has done a very good job of convincing lots of blacks and Hispanics that most white Republicans are closet racists who understand certain policies as “code words” for racist intentions that they can't say publicly.

That's garbage.

Unfortunately, lies work. People wouldn't lie if lies didn't succeed a significant percentage of the time. Convincing people that a lie is a lie is not easy, but we simply must convince traditional Catholic Hispanics, charismatic and other Protestant Hispanics, and secular Hispanic businessmen to vote Republican or we're going to become a permanent minority.

The same should be done with evangelical black pastors and secular black businessmen, but it will be much harder to do so because of a much longer history of actual bigotry against blacks that is much worse than denigration of Hispanics.
