I hope you're right. From another article:

[Boehner] said conditions on higher taxes would include a revamped tax code to make it cleaner and fairer, fewer loopholes and lower rates for all.

So it sounds to me like higher taxes are definitely a part of the Boehner plan - and "fairness" is in the eye of the beholder.

I wish they'd get a new speaker. I think even De Mint would be better, although I'm not sure they can change or, if so, when.
