Starting to see these pop up already. Will post here as I hear them. Please do same.
The company was holding off on this move until we knew the results of the election (in the hopes that a change in Washington may result in repeal or significant revision to the Affordable Care Act).
My guess is that about 75% of these hourly full time employees voted for Obama in 08 and 12.
Their vote basically ensured that their hours and paychecks would be hit - hard (on average probably about a 20% decrease in hours/pay). Saddest part is the majority of them will blame the "rich" and "corporate America" and never realize the blame lies with (1) the Affordable Care Act (i.e., Obama and the congress members who voted for it) and (2) in the end, themselves and their vote.
This isn't a game, it's real life.
I’d post this on my facebook but the libs have blocked me. They don’t want to hear the truth and at this point, F them.
“My guess is that about 75% of these hourly full time employees voted for Obama in 08 and 12.”
My guess is that none of them had a clue about what obamacare would do to them.
A hell of a lot of people that voted this bastard back into office have no clue whatsoever as to what they have created.
These are the same Libs that don’t want to believe that Al Queda would attack us again. It’s like a psychosis; this inability to face the truth if it’s not happy-smiley.
It was reported in the last month or so that ObamaCare defines “full time” as 30 hours per week or more.
ObamaCare defines anyone working 30 hours or more a week as full-time. Your Company has to go with the 29 hour work week to make the jump.

The irony for me is that I will LOSE my health insurance. I have low-cost catastrophic, all I can afford. But, catastrophic insurance will be outlawed. One must buy the one-size-fits-all Obamacare plan (the choice of non-abortion plans is limited). I cannot afford it. And I work two jobs to stay above the poverty level, so I will not qualify for subsidies. Yes, I will be called a freeloader for not buying what I cannot afford, and then slapped with a tax-penalty . . . which I will NOT pay! I have already started withholding LESS so that i get no refund from which they could hold back the tax. When I pay my taxes, I will simply subtract that amount from my check. Oh sure, they will come after me. But, I will die trying, die penniless if they take what I own, die in jail perhaps, but I WILL die a free man!
Your plan is the same as mine.
I’m a SAHM, and my husband was laid off at the end of March 3 months after having surgery for prostate cancer.
We already have a daughter with a brain injury (epilepsy, and some other issues).
Then my “healthy” other 15 yr old daughter started having problems in January. She has been diagnosed as having focal dystonia (a movement disorder related to Parkinson’s, but hopefully not degenerative) in her left hand along with tendonitis.
My husband is working for a start-up. He has recently started getting a salary, but no benefits.
Of course, we live in California. (I want to move!!!!!!)
I’m worried about Obamacare.
Hourly employees will be capped at less than 30 hours per week. I'd estimate we'll have almost 100,000 employees effected.
I've spoken to a close friend at another major company anticipating the same move there.
Can you PM me your insurance carrier and the cost?
I’m looking to have Cat. insurance.
3.8% on the sale of your home, gross amount, not net. 40% on dividend income, capital gain goes to ?????
I found through an agent a company in New York called Starr Indemnity. They offer temporary catastrophic (I have a pre-exisiting condition, mild atrialfib, but the questions are easy to answer without mentioning it), that is good for 12 months but renewable each year. Cost me about $175/mo, and there are supplemental plans one can buy with it. Also dental. It does not cover much, but catastrophic insn’t supposed to. But it DOES give you peace of mind that there is something standing between you and financial ruin in the case of serious illness. My contact info for the agent is: Nan Givens, ngivens@healthchoiceone.com
