All those “historic turnout”, “PA is in play”, “WI is in play”, “MN is in play”.. should get it through their thick skulls that those states are lost in the electoral reality.
it was and has always been about Ohio. It will most likely be about Ohio in the next presidential election too.
This was not a major tide-turning election at all. The GOP simply needs to figure out how to attract votes from employed taxpayers (there are still a lot of them out there, folks). Obama did well among this group in all of these swing states.
In my opinion, the road to success for any Republican candidate is to successfully pit the growing mass of working immigrants against the leeches and losers who make up a huge chunk of the Democratic base. Like him or not, this is something that George W. Bush did very well.
