They were willing to DIE for their faith. They KNEW that GOD could save them, but if not....

Churchill's speech:

In the spring of 1940 the German army relentlessly beat back British troops from the mainland. As they retreated through Belgium, Winston Churchill addressed Parliament to prepare the country for the hard loss of these troops. The Germans pushed the soldiers right onto the beaches.
