I just voted in Seminole County- part of the infamous I-4 corridor. I went early around 7:30 and the lines were out the door. Came back at 10:30 and they were STILL out the door so I stayed. It took about an hour altogether. I asked the poll watchers if this was normal turnout- she said she’s NEVER seen it this big at this precinct in over 20 years!!!!

The feeling was upbeat and determined...saw LOTS of Romney stickers on cars in parking lot...2 for O.

Wife and I are in a very long line waiting in the rain. Rain does not seem to be affecting anyone. We had to park a half mile away. Will give another update when I can get to a PC. We are in The NE part of LeeCounty. Very sparsely populated.

I had a live phone call from a Romney worker in Jacksonville earlier this AM. I engaged her in a short conversation. She's made over 6000 calls these past couple weeks.

I live over on the other coast, so I asked her if she's just calling in the JAX area. She said "no"....she's been phoning all over the state of Florida proper and in the Keys.

I asked her what her overall feedback has been. I asked her to be succinct as I didn't want to tie her up from her appointed rounds.

In a freeper minute....she said that her calls are looking great for Romney. Her personal tally shows Romney ahead, lots of folks telling her they had already voted R & R.

She said a lot of people are fed up with political calls and are nasty or hang up. I said, "chalk those up for Obama", LOL.

At any rate, I could even tell in her voice she was very upbeat, even elated, despite the grind of the task ahead of her today.

Thank God for volunteers like she.....and God bless ALL our efforts today.

Brevard County...Ridiculously long line this morning

I expected the residents of Titusville (or what is left of Titusville after the space shuttle program was shuttered) would have a strong desire to vote today.

Just voted around 10:00 a.m. (CST) in Panama City (Bay County), which is a heavily Republican area. My precinct is more Republican than the county average.

I was voter #276 in my precinct. Normally I would expect there to have been well under 200 voters as of mid-morning.

Also, one of the people I spoke to while in line said that 46% of area voters had voted before election day (early or absentee). I believe it - the check-in process here still uses a paper list of voters. After I presented my photo ID I had to sign by my name on the roll. As the poll worker flipped through the list to find my name, it did look like close to half of the names were marked as “voted early” or “voted absentee.”

I heard the poll workers talking about how there had been a line wrapped around the building the first couple of hours as people came to vote before work. They also said they expected to be “overrun” this evening with the after work crowd.

Demographics were definitely skewed to 40+, with quite a lot of elderly folks, including one frail lady in a wheelchair and another lady who sounded like she had asthma and seemed barely able to walk. I would definitely classify those two as “broken glass voters.” I only saw a couple of people who appeared to be under 25. Most of the “younger” voters were probably late 20s through early 40s. Based on the conversations I participated in and those I overheard while standing in line, the voters were overwhelmingly there to vote for Romney.

Hopefully the rest of the conservative precincts and counties in the state are experiencing similarly high turnout!

From Tampa: voted in the Palma Ceia area of S. Tampa. It was raining a steady rain. Had to wait in line about 30 minutes to get my ballot and another 15 minutes to get to a machine. Largest turn out I have seen at this polling place in the past 14 years.

I vote at PC Baptist at Himes/Bay-To-Bay. Line out the door around building. Went at 8:15 am in the rain. Never seen a line like that before. Been voting there since 96.

Tallahassee here - it is usually very pro-Obama. But lots more Romney signs/stickers in the last few weeks. Husband and I were #565 and 566 in line at 12:30. Only handful of people there; were all people our age (30s), we brought our daughter, and another lady had a baby there as well.

Poll worker said the early morning was extremely busy.

Obama will probably win Leon County, thanks to FAMU, FSU and lots of gov’t workers. But that is the exception in the panhandle.

I already early voted in central Fla. (Orange County) but my Democrat neighbors went to vote for Romney and Connie Mack and I saw them leave at 8:30am. They got back about 11:00 am and told me they had tried at 7:30 am and the line was around the bldg. so they left and went back at 8:30am and stood in line for 2.5 hours and voted. They said there was a light rain when they left and then it cleared up but they took umbrellas anyway. All went well. The man is 75 yoa and has never voted before!!!

I heard Byron York telling Megyn Kelly he feels Romney should give Newt Gingrich a position since he is a great idea person. My brother was also impressed with how much class Gingrich has shown supporting Romney. Newt has done a fantastic job going on CNN and Fox supporting Romney and I hope he gets a job in the administration also.

Madeline Albright would cringe at her own reflection in a mirror - if it hadn’t already broken into bits!

When I voted in Pittsburgh, one of the poll workers sitting at the table where you sign in was wearing an Obama shirt. I had thought that that kind of thing was prohibited.
