A week after Hurricane Sandy struck New Jersey, the state is still struggling to recover. Hundreds of thousands are still without power, thousands are displaced from their homes and basic food, water and gasoline are scarce. Despite Obama's promise to leverage the full resources of the federal government and cut through "red tape," the state largely will still be a disaster area on Tuesday, when voters nationwide go to the polls. So, the Christie Administration has announced that people will be able to cast their ballots by e-mail or fax on Tuesday. What could possibly go wrong?

Couldn’t agree more. I wonder what he was promised - slash - threatened about?
As for the voting - this is what Democrats are all about, create chaos and confusion, and eliminate standards so you can never be sure about what’s going on. So disappointed that Christie would go along.
Things could go horribly wrong and obama takes New Jersey.
In other news...
You’re probably right in that Obama is likely to take NJ anyway. Still, it’s infuriating that any gov’t official would seriously suggest that this was a valid way to conduct an election.
He is Arlen Specter, II.
The sooner he makes the switch the better he wil do.
I hope the other govs don’t try this.
Is there any kind of proclamation? Anything codifying the gov’s idea? I thought the states’ legislatures made laws regarding elections, how they are conducted, etc. NOT the governor operating unilaterally, regardless of any emergency.
And how are folks without power supposed to send emails or faxes? Even te smartest phone battery would be dead by now. If they can schlep to a Staples or Kinkos, they can schlep to a polling place. This makes zero sense.
No electricity, telecom infrastructure down, no one faxes any more, no way to verify voter identity. Why not?
Yes, but gladly this wave of madness is spent upon the Jersey Shore...
Better there than Hatteras or the Grand Strand!
Ridiculous. If this happens, there will be immediate bills (by dems) to make it permanent. After all, if such voting could be cobbled into existence within a few days and had been carried out “ without a hitch,” there’s no reason not to make it a permanent option.
Does anyone think Obama won’t take NJ anyway? There are only a handful of states in play in the presidential race. What it does affect however are their local elections. It is crazy to allow email voting.
The only state in New England that is in play for Romney is New Hampshire, so what is the big deal for this election anyway since more people up there are finding out the hard way who is on their side. All of those PO’ed people are not going to be looking for ways to prolong their misery.
Bingo.
What do you expect from Obama’s Greek column?
There is no way this election tally will come out right.

Presactly. This isn’t about NJ (that state is voting 0 no matter). It’s about the terrible precedent.
So much for secret ballots.
Just like a union election.
Hey, it’s Joisey!
His vision of that roller coaster going into the H2) gave him post-traumatic stress disorder methinks.
On “The Five” Spec. Ed. tonight, they showed a clip of him (sam outfit he’s been in for the past week) giving some sort of apology/explanation it was so much of nothing that anyone who dreamt it was any kind of an endorsement of Romney should check their stash of booze, they’ve had mor to drink than they thought.
And we had so many PhonyCons claiming Christie was some “conservative”...
Christie is a Pro-Islamic Terrorist Liberal who is doing everything possible to throw this election for Obama.
Once again....Fiscal Conservatives are neither....
