FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.

Is it unionized water??? It tastes different, ya know.
>>Theres tons of good bottled water in thousands of stores and warehouses throughout North America (since so many people prefer to buy it for $2 a bottle rather than just drink tap water, which is also available in abundance).
And there is a big part of the problem. Don’t send bottles of water. Send tankers full of water. When Hurricane Agnes devastated Prince William county in VA in 1972, we were without water for a week. The Corps of Engineers brought in a portable water purification truck and emptied swimming pools to supply us with water. They also brought in tanker trucks full of water. We never got a bottle of water.
Perhaps the Army doesn’t even have that kind of equipment anymore. Makes me thankful that I work for a water/sewer utility! There may not be power for the service pumps to send the water out to the people, but our generators can run a few well pumps to keep the reservoirs full. Which kinda makes me wonder why they aren’t doing that and letting people fill containers from the reservoir tanks.
The liberals would be aghast at Baptist volunteers. They would be afraid of violating separation of church and state and all that. Plus, odds are these Baptist people oppose homosexual marriage, so the liberals would reject aid from such people.
I had sumpin' a little more salty in mind, but not bad. ;)
What a shock-Big Gov’t fails again.
Bid it out to Wal Mart???? The liberals hate Wal Mart. The liberals would never stand for that!!!!!!!!
Next month a meeting will be held to discuss it. In someplace warm and dry, of course. With lots of sunshine to help the thinking process...and beaches too, gotta have beaches.
What better place to think about dieselination of water.
I do not think Christie was seeking revenge. He knew he was not picked a long time ago and since has been making some pretty powerful speeches in support of Romney.
He just does not have strong convictions, because his life is in turmoil and it is apparent through his physical appearance.
With what bozo?
No eletricity, no gas, everything wet....
Well, the people of Staten Island can just stand with their mouths open when the next nor’easter comes up the coast next week.
If you don’t live in the better sections of Manhattan, you don’t count.

FEMA is good at delivering FORMS to fill out.
Well, they’re there. Maybe the locals be more aghast at how badly their purported government saviors have responded and will be more receptive to a Christian message as a result.
Good one! But who am I to talk, I still don’t have one!
Here’s a good one .... we see what the Lefties are worried about:
Two companies I'm aware of are justly famous for their logistics (aside from FedEx and UPS, who are in the logistics business).
Walmart is one. The other is Frito-Lay. The distribution centers receive product daily from multiple plants serving a given region. In the AM, that center will be full-to-bursting with fresh product that has arrived overnight.
By evening, it will be empty again as every bag will have been distributed to retail. That night, the cycle will start all over again.
Bagged snack quality is hugely dependent upon freshness. And Frito-Lay chips are almost always just 2-3 days old when they are purchased.
Indeed, I recall a case when I was working for them. A lady bought a bag of Fritos in a Dallas convenience store and was offended by the scent when she opened the bag. She called the HQ and complained, then was asked to send it in for examination.
Turns out, the bag she purchased in the convenience store at noon had left the production line in Irving at 10:30 AM. What she got was a whiff of nitrogen (which tops off all bagged snack packages) infused with the smell of corn and still warm cooking oil, which had yet to dissipate.
Sometimes, the product can be "too fresh"...
>>Youll need a new screen name after Tuesday!<<
LOL, It will be worth it!!!
I have one word: outrageous.
