I don’t buy it.
Remember that job #1 for dempolitico is to turn off Republican voters, keep them away from the polls. This is just propaganda for that purpose.
He was vetted and he did not pass inspection.

Blah, blah, blah, too late now lalala. WE have Paul Ryan and we are happy. Who cares?
Christie would have killed Romney’s chances. 2 potential gun banners on the ticket would be the kiss of death.
I have said several times that Christie would wear out his welcome in a hurry in a long campaign. Loudmouth bluster only goes so far. Paul Ryan is a far, far better pick . . . IMHO
Perhaps that explains Christie’s lackluster speech at the Republican convention.
In 2008 McCain wanted Lieberman.

Ryan was the better choice.
Christie would probably not have been that well received outside of the NorthEast.
NTSA!
I think that there should be a 12th commandment for nonsense like this:
If it isn’t sourced, it wasn’t said.
Period.
Christie provided the October surprise against Romney by giving Obama undue praise and a hand holding photo op. If Obama wins Obama will send America into a socialist hell where we will all he starving slaves as in a public housing project.I hate that fat piece of lard Christie.
Who gives a $hit? Election is Tuesday and Romney/Ryan is the ticket.
Go vote all! Please.
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers — Garth Brooks.
Christie, like Marco Rubio, would have been a disaster as a running mate. Romney needed a VP pick who would arose the conservative base, like Ryan. Christie is to the left of Romney (and Rubio, too, contrary to the Conventional Wisdom) and would have kept Real Conservatives home on election day
Romney made a wise choice not going w Christie. Christie is too liberal...and a National Security disaster waiting to happen
Paul Ryan was a great pick.
The Ryan pick was superb!
Hmmmm....lean, muscular, disciplined, LOYAL, smart, conservative guy, versus undisciplined, DISLOYAL, fat, phony, RINO, self-serving slob. Tough choice.
Wrong — Paul Ryan was his first pick, because Ryan has been Romney’s ONLY pick.
Partisan Media Shills ping.
Thanks COUNTrecount.
From Pollutico- the “news” source that has been caught repeatedly fabricating quotes and making up bogus stories using anonymous “sources”...
Willard would have lost in a landslide with another Northeast RINO on the ticket. Politico is ‘Rat propaganda. Don’t trust Willard. Hold his feet to the fire.
moot point, no one can prove it either way except Romney, who isn’t going to.
I think stability and predictability would be major factors in choosing a VP, witness what we see every day with Gaffmaster Biteme and now with Christie praising Obama. These things drive a wedge between the Potus and the Veep and give the other side something to distract attention away from the real issues.
Christie would have been much more of a liability in that regard and let’s be honest, his weight and potential health issues are not a plus.
There’s also the rumor that Christie turned down the VP slot because he felt Romney was going to lose and thus spoil his own chances for a run in 2016.
