Well, it finally happened. The mainstream media have figured out that Benghazi is a big story and potentially a serious national security scandal. After weeks of silence, a plethora of mainstream media news stories have popped.
*snip*
CBS News reports: CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group (CSG). The CSG is the one group thats supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies, a high-ranking government official told CBS News. They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon.
As conservative critics have pointed out for weeks, the White House cover story didnt match the information held by intelligence agencies:
In the days after the assault, counterterrorism officials expressed dismay over what they interpreted as the Obama Administrations unwillingness to acknowledge that the attack was terrorism; and their opinion that resources which could have helped were excluded.

The Mainstream stupid media finally waking up?
It will take a big chunk of that time just to state all the different excuses the 0bama regime has tried to float for not doing a damn thing while they watched our people get slaughtered!
Tragically, I think the MSM feels like its dragged its feet on this just long enough to keep the real ugly facts from coming out until after next Tuesday. They can still remain “relevant” to the public, and help Obama get re-elected at the same time.
CBS has been on this for a few days now. The tell will be when ABC/NBC/MSNBC report it.
The comments at source say much about the thinking (or lack thereof) of Libs. As usual, they recognize only those facts which support their POV.
Administration spin stories are appearing all over the place. The MSM prints the excuses to a story they never reported. That’s what happens when the media is nothing but PR crisis managers for Obama.
No, they are not stupid. They are hedging their bets. Still propagandists, but this is so blatantly incompetent they are in an indefensible position.
I see this as a way to explain how the polls were so wrong. The polls showing Obama winning were accurate, but this “late breaking story” changed a lot of minds.
In Obama’s post “Arab Spring” - none dared call it “terrorism”. After all, Obama had “killed” Osama bin Laden, Obama had facilitated the “Arab Spring” - and, here they saw a chance to attack freedom of speech and deny the existence of terrorism in one incident. - Also, “muddling” is Hillary’s strong suit. She and Hussein are regular Bobbsey Twins.
I think you’re right. This is their last resort—feeble efforts far too late.
My “cross-border authority” meme is picking up steam.
Here is the current Friday FR thread with the PJ Media essay I wrote for them today:
“The Smoking Gun of Benghazi? Only the president can grant cross-border authority.”

The original PJ Media link:
If you post a comment to the PJ Media thread, it might stay on their home page longer, and eventually be seen by a reporter who gives a damn about discovering the truth about Benghazi.
And the state-run media complex has already been given the excuse they need to cover themselves, straight from the government they are protecting...”they didn’t have enough intelligence to take any action.”
re: The MSM prints the excuses to a story they never reported.
excellent point!
IIRC, there was a mention of CBA in the WaPo comments section as well.
Greta just reported that Lindsey Graham has secured permission from the Tunisian government for the fbi to question the ‘suspect’ from 9/11 they are holding.
Herridge asks if the Tunisian government so swiftly acted on an intervention, nothing more than a letter, from a senator, why didn’t the justice departmemt or the whitehouse ask for access in the first place.
