New York Times White House Correspondent Mark Lander took to Twitter yesterday and admitted the number of people attending President Obama's campaign rallies is less than impressive, especially so close to Election Day.
Maybe Obama isn't getting crowds in Las Vegas because of this:
A careless remark by President Barack Obama about Las Vegas has triggered a furious backlash from Nevada’s cash-strapped gambling city and a key Democratic ally fighting a tough re-election battle in the state.
Speaking about the economy at an event in New Hampshire, Mr Obama told Americans: “When times are tough, you tighten your belts.
“You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college. You prioritise. You make tough choices.”
The economy of the world’s most famous gambling and entertainment destination is heavily dependent on tourism and Las Vegans were already incensed by a comment from Mr Obama last year that companies should not use federal bail out money for trips to the city.
Tourism and casino officials said the comment hurt the city after companies cancelled meetings in Las Vegas and re-arranged them elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Mitt Romney has been pulling in crowds of 10,000+ in swing states like Colorado and Florida.

Well, he's right on that. What the Vegas folks are figuring out is that it is HIS fault.
Why does Obambi keep heading to Las Vegas?
If he loses Clark County, its the icing on the cake for this misbegotten whelp who is our President!
I see it different. I find it impressive that there are still that many fools showing up for Obama’s rallies. The NYT are inflating the numbers anyway...and the administration had to bus in lots of union folks to get the numbers in the hundreds!
My first thought was it had something to do with an addiction....
Hookers and blow?
There were over 10,000 in CO at his rally last night fwiw..but meh. We’ll find out soon whether or not The Republic is still alive or if it has finally been put out of its misery.
Could be. Could also be some kind of favor he owes Harry Reid.
Could be both, I suppose.
Harry Reid knows people who can satisfy certain appetites, I've no doubt.
10,000 people did worship at his feet in Boulder Colorado last night.
they dont need to show up ...they get welfare checks..thats what will get obama votes..and we pay for it
There is a ton of compelling video footage from Staten Island, Belmar and the Rockaways of how badly FEMA's bureaucracy is failing people.
There are articulate, hardworking people who are in desperate straits and who are making very telegenic comments.
Not "the government owes me a living" comments.
Stuff along the lines of: "I am a taxpayer! I am running low on the supplies I had stocked up. I walked four miles to the FEMA center. I waited on line for five hours to fill out a claim form. When I finished they gave me a card with an 800 number and told me to wait at home for a FEMA inspector to come by sometime in the next week and to call for updates. Call for updates! I have no power, my cell phone is dead and my landline is gone! A week! Obama said on TV that he was guaranteeing a 15 minute response time. Then his spokesperson says check the internet! There is no internet here."
People are angry - not because they are whiners, but because the President made specific promises and then went to Vegas and forgot about those promises.
4 years ago it was 100,000.
What band was playing; and Boulder is not really reflective of the entire state?
Remember the talk of substance abuse and/or rehab after the first debate? It’s been in my head everytime more information is exposed about Benghazi. Was he chemically unable to perform his duties on 9-11-12?
the band The Head and The Heart performed
There is a reason why it is his third trip to Boulder. It’s the only place he can draw large crowds anymore.

“Could be. Could also be some kind of favor he owes Harry Reid.”
Harry signed off on the eligibility forms as did Pelosi. Perhaps Harry knows there was a bit of fraud there and Obama goes to Vegas to keep Harry quiet.
Having lived in both, I can say with certainty that Boulder is to the lovely State of Colorado as Austin is to Texas.
If only 10,000 lemmings showed up, his base is crumbling.
NV is in play, and Vegas is Harry Reid's stronghold that has kept him in power waaaay past any sensible point. Most of NV HATES Reid, but can't seem to oust him because of the Vegas corruption money.
It took him at least 18 hours to decide to give the "go" order while Seal Team Six sat on the Tarmac waiting. Had a lot to do with the helicopter crash, I would think. Judging by all of the votes of present in his life, he's not very fast on his feet. As for the original post, he said that about Vegas four years ago. But because he's a democrat, he could have said that yesterday and most democrats here would still vote for him. We just hope enough of them decide to stay home this time around to make up for the California liberals that moved here.
