Here is the fundamental question: Someone gave an order not to assist or attempt to extract Americans under fire when military assets were available. WHO GAVE THE ORDER?

That is the only relevant question at this point. Why they did not give the order ("fog of war", too little information, yada yada yada) or why they covered it up (what we were told, blah-blah-blah.) These are all secondary questions.

All the reasons, rationales and excuses can be given after that answer. There may even be some good ones. Some may indeed be classified. But the answer to this question is not classified. The answer to this question is immaterial to any investigation currently in progress. And the answer to this question has nothing to do with the roles played by State, CIA, or the military in setting up and conducting operations at the Consulate. The answer to this question has nothing to do with what our Ambassador -- or anyone else -- was actually doing there.

The ex-SEAL Dad is the only person asking the right question: "Who gave the order that my son had to die?"

WHO GAVE THE ORDER?... agreed, that is the question. Just glad to see someone other than Fox and Beck from the media looking into it. The WSJ has never been a HRC fan, so maybe there is hope.

" ("fog of war", too little information, yada yada yada)"

There was no fog of war. It is certain now that the WH and others had real time intel. They had the cameras inside and out of the facility (which have yet to be released), direct comms with those requesting assistance, and at least one drone overhead. Plus, we know as fact that the Ambassador had requested more security previously, knowing that al-Queda affiliated terrorists were making plans for further attacks after having already lobed bombs over the compound walls of our mission twice prior.

This was simply a failure of Obama and others to protect a high level American representative and his support personnel. The f*cker saw it real time and decided to go to bed for his fundraiser the next day in Las Vegas.

I've followed this more closely than the election, and after reading from those in the know, we had the resources and those willing to risk their lives, but were not given the GO. Sorry, I don't buy the excuse of international borders. Didn't stop Obama (more likely Panetta) from authorizing an incursion into Pakistan to kill bin-Laden, not to mention the numerous drone attacks in Pakistan.

An Ambassador was murdered. That is one of the worst things that can happen to a sovereign country. It's an act of war. And no, I don't care if it were a small group of al-Queda, a true leader would have ordered their rescue no matter what the risk (even Careter attemped). It will be shown that our Armed Forces were ready to go from Sicily and possibly other locations and were told to "stand down" - watch. I am sick about this whole debacle.

Still, the "cult of Obama" may give him another 4 years. THEY WANT STUFF! I'm beginning to hate my fellow Americans.
