Candidates’ schedules may reveal more than poll President Obama will be going to Ohio every day before the election – a state where he is currently polling ahead of Mitt Romney. GOP contender Romney will be stopping only twice in Ohio and then twice in New Hampshire where he appears to be in the lead. NBC’s Chuck Todd reports.

Have you ever tired of something and the more you were around it the more fed up with it you became? That is obama for enough of the electorate to put Mitt over the top.

The absentee/early voting #s we have followed suggest this is a wrap.
I heard that Romney is going to Virginia and Florida....why go there when he is guaranteed wins there. Anyway, Fox News still say that Obama is ahead of Romney in NH, VA, and Iowa. I thought Romney had Virginia in the bag....his going to Virginia and Fox News makes me think that Romney may not have Virginia after all.
You’ll find that expressing this kind of skepticism get’s you in hot water at FR. I for one agree with your assessment. If they were truly locked up he wouldn’t be spending precious time there. But hey, Broken Glass and all...
Schedules are important, but look at how the two candidates are actually campaigning. I watched both give speeches on TV today and Romney does not look like a guy who is losing. His message is very affirmative/positive and reiterative of his previous stump speeches. R&R are not trying out new lines or going negative in any new manner. Obama is wearing a flight jacket (never saw that before) and slashing his opponent aggressively while jumping from state to state.
These are also joint rallies with the senate candidates !

Agreed. For 2-3 weeks Obama has looked frantic and desperate. I am not looking through rose colored glasses when I say this. Pretty much from the 3rd debate forward, the campaigns’ actions have told me Romney is in the lead. Once Ohio tightened up to even in multiple polls and Rasmussen showed Romney at 50% with a 2 point lead, I felt it was in the bag...barring a major change.
Watching the campaigns today made me renew these feelings. Was interested to see what happened post-storm to see if anything changes. Romney looks like he’s winning. I am surprised their schedule is so heavy on NH, VA and FL. They either feel comfortable with Ohio, or feel it is pretty much decided one way or the other. They have pretty much camped out there for weeks, so it is not like 3 more visits would impact much.
Still cautiously optimistic.
I believe that his FL and VA trips were delayed due to the storm.
Taking this from a glass half full perspective: (1) Two competitive senate races that he could help if he wins big there; (2) Don’t take anything for granted. Bush didn’t campaign in Florida for the last week of 2000, and look what happened.
I won’t jump on a skeptic, and I’m sure many FReepers won’t. But what do you think of the idea that Romney is headed to VA and FL in order to shore up some Senatorial campaigns (Allen and Mack?)
I suppose we could say Obama’s going to OH for the same reason? I don’t know that Senatorial situation there.

Interesting. There are actually two theories for what this could mean:
1. Romney could be spending time in New Hampshire because he thinks Ohio is going for him and he doesn’t need it, whereas Obama is worried.
2. Romney is writing Ohio off. But if Romney has info that says he can’t win Ohio why is Obama spending so much time there?
D+4 which isn't bad. Romney +3 among independents. Lots of internals that I don't feel like going through.
I heard today on FOX that Romney is going to Philly on Sunday. Why would he waste his time in Philly if he didn’t feel that 1) OH, VA, FL and even CO are locked down and 2) he felt he has no chance in PA. Unless he actually feels his chances in PA are better than those in OH. Regardless, listening to him on the stump I’m hearing a guy who knows he’s ahead.

Possible but I don’t think so. Although those are two seats that we had on the hit list and are now very close. So it’s possible but his time is extremely limited and I’d think he would be more interested in locking up his own vote.
Early vote says he has advantage VA and FL. If OH is in fact locked up, then all he has to do is check Zero in VA and FL.
However, Romney is in Cincy tomorrow night.
