President Obama gets sky-high marks for his response to Hurricane Sandy, which cut a brutal path along the countrys East Coast on Monday, according to the latest release of the Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll.
Nearly eight in 10 likely voters say the president has done an excellent or good job dealing with whats been labeled a super storm. Almost as many give positive reviews to the federal governments response generally. Even two-thirds of those who support Republican Mitt Romney in next weeks presidential election say Obama is doing well in this area.
The results for the hurricane response question are from interviews Tuesday evening, one of the four waves of interviews in the current release from the Post-ABC tracking poll. The one-night margin of sampling error is plus or minus six percentage points. As was the case Tuesday, responses in the Northeast across a range of demographic and political variables were on par with those throughout the tracking poll, which started Oct. 18.
Averaging across the most recent four waves, the presidential contest itself is back to a tie, with Obama and Romney each supported by 49 percent of likely voters.

What is it that Obama did that was so great? He didn’t do anything wrong but this sure as heck wasn’t a Katrina-type storm. Goodness gracious.
He showed up - unlike Benghazi!

After 2 days had to clean out fridge. Still no power, cell service is to sporadic to be of use.
Getting cold out & no heat.
Hasn’t done anything for me. Spoke to some older ladies who feel se as we waited 1 hour online for breakfast at McDonald’s. Only place within hour ride that had hot food.
Looks like D+5.
Wonder what last nights sample looked like....
Well, let's see. He did a fly over. He had a photo op with the Dough-Boy (Christie) and he flew back to DC and gave up one day of campaigning. What a leader!
Obama will be tied or ahead in every national poll including gallup by Friday .....the push is on and now the media has the great leader in a crisis narrative....and they are going to run with it to the finish line ...
I give Obamugabe ZERO marks for his response to the storm.
He did SQUAT to bring down the ocean levels....Instead, it seems they have risen to catastrophic proportions in the northeast.
Additionally, let’s take a good look at how he has treated other parts of the country. Did this clown do anything when a hurricane was bearing down on Florida in August? NOPE.
Did he grant Oklahoma federal aid when it was devastated by floods? NOPE.
Did he allow our men in Benghazi to be murdered in an act of war committed by Al-Qaeda sympathizers? YEP.
He is posing as a good guy now because his bosses Axeldweebe and Pluff are telling him to do so. He is a loser.
Yeah, I’m glad Chris Christie is getting what he needs—but Obamugabe isn’t to be thanked...Christie is playing the game, and I don’t blame him. But BO stinks, regardless.
Maybe they saw Chris Christie slobbering all over himself about his boy Hussein. He actually called Christie three times and Christie was like a love-struck teenage girl!
Obambi must have had a good polling night last night, and that was before Christie practically endorsed him this morning. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him take the lead in this poll tomorrow.
I keep waiting for the undecideds to break our way. Hopefully, Obama’s hurricane response bounce is just a temporary blip that will disappear as we head into the weekend and people are forced to make their final decisions.
More than fifty people dead, boardwalks destroyed, subways flooded, millions still in the dark.
His response has been a failure.
After what Christie did today, I expect 0 to take lead tomorrow. But like all 0bummer bounces, it won’t last. Storm coverage is over today, campaign resumes tomorrow.
The timing is annoying...
People are idiots. This will help obama. I’m afraid it’ll help him just enough for him to win. And Fat Ass Christie might as well kiss obama’s skinny ass.
I had to turn THE FIVE off because of all the boo hooing about them losing their summer homes. And Cavuto saying electricity needs to be back on before 10 days. I was without electricity for 8 days during Ike and I’m 60 miles from the coast. Some people were in the dark for 30 days or longer.
Too bad people can’t pay their mortgage with a photo op.
Amen brother. I am working in your shoes as well.
