Coulter’s use if the word “Retard” to describe Obama was not only on target but also very effective in helping define Obama for voters. Instead of running away from Coulter’s Tweet, the GOPe and the Romney campaign may find that they would get more traction by supporting Coulter and using the word to describe Obama in swing state ads.

Obama is not actually retarded--not by contemporary standards. Of those described as "Scoundrels, Neurotics & Dolts," in today's categories, I would consider him a scoundrel. But, certainly compared to the intellectual level of the Founding Fathers, as exhibited in the public record, he would fall in the "dolt" category. We really have fallen that far in our public discourse.

Obama would not have measured up to a very bad joke among those debating our new Constitution. The fact that he can continually lie, ape Hitler in the demagogue's "Blame Game," and openly advocate "redistribution" of the fruits of honest labor, and seem to get away with it, says a lot that we wish were not true about the present intellectual level of our public discourse.

Without agreeing with Anne's comment, one can certainly sympathize with the frustration she feels over our fall from a sentient population.
