It has not - the core temperature is still significantly higher than the surrounding air - hence it's still warm core.

I wrote to my congresscritter a couple of years ago when it seemed as though the NHC was too eager to wipe its hands of storms.

Then, as now, there are no other systems brewing

I could understand it if they were tracking multiple storms but when a howler is headed for the I-95 corridor they should be empowered REQUIRED to stay with it until out of US territory.
