The Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.
Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette is being sent back to the USS John C. Stennis' home port at Bremerton, Wash., in what the Navy called a temporary reassignment. The Navy said he is not formally relieved of his command of the Stennis strike group but will be replaced by Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the investigation is completed.
It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.

Normally, I would agree. But Gouette is one of only three commanders who were relieved within the past 24 hours.
In at least one case, there seems to be a connection to Benghazi and the absence of presidential action...
If it came down to that, I seriously believe there’s too many good people who can defend themselves, for them to be stopped.
You've certainly gotten a lot of flack for that.
May I suggest this turn of phrase for next time?:
Civilian micro-management of the military is way over rated.
“Civilian control yes, civilian TACTICAL control, NO. “
I’d say in almost all cases yes. It’s called DELEGATION and that’s what those guys are trained to do. That’s why they’re in the positions they’re in.
Surprise, a Stalin like purge...but hold that thought.
Before YOU make an impassioned plea for someone to come forth with the truth, state your position on NDAA. The stakes for a leak are pretty high now, a dark cell in Poland even death.
Just state your position, it’s not a high hurtle sitting there behind your keyboard. I promise I won’t call you a boot licker, though I can’t speak for others.
Re your #57; I suspect that all of our major officers are now surrounded by Obama loyalists who are under orders to apprehend or kill them immediately if they get out of line.
The troops that these officers actually command who might be more loyal to them then the REMFs in Washington are probably kept well away from them so as not to be able to defend them when the purge comes down.
I sense that we are on the dagger’s edge between the soft and the hard purge now; don’t be surprised if dissident Generals simply cease to be seen or heard from after being “relieved of duty”.
Stalin systematically murdered about a third of his Officer Corps, thousands of them.

Brought up by his “Uncle” Frank Marshall Davis, Obama knows his Stalin well - especially what worked to keep him firmly in control of his empire.
You know how history tends to repeat itself...
Something is very apt to happen within our military any day now, and I’m afraid it isn’t going to be pretty.
We may be seeing the beginning of it even now.
I’m curious as to the reason for the new head of the Med fleet having a 10.5 hour visit to the White House on 1/27/11.

Could be the other way around ~ or, another alternative is that there are a bunch of imbedded KGB agents in the ranks.
is this what you were hearing was coming down??
me too!
dastardly ping
this could be Obummers stupidist move and I’n series
Three commanders? Who is the third?
Obama & Benghazi will forever be linked in the history books.
Of course, not following orders and all but who is this second in command?
I'm guessing they won't be re-writing the Marine Corps Hymn in his honor --
From the shores of Tripoli,
to the streets of Benghazi...
At least Fox is going to stay on top of all this crap as it plays out.
keep giving us your droplets!
can you just imagine the snippin goin on at the White Hut..
...my guess.....some there are scared to death and some actually prayed for the 1st times in their life and not to govt, but to God
this is as big as it gets
