I would like a defeat of the democrat party that is so crushing that it will be politically impossible to have another democrat party elected to office. IOW the democrat party goes the way of the bull moose, whigs, tory, or commies.

After 2010, many predicted the end of the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party does, however, need a take over, a cleansing, a reformation. The Libs/Progressives have gained control and they are driving the party on the road to socialism. Unless the ole blue-dog, Reagan democrats can muster forces and take over the party, it will continue, with every election, on that road.

Of course, the GOP has the same problem. It is just a few steps behind. The moderates [that is conservativespeak for Libs and Progressives] are moving the party along the same road as the Dems -- just not quite as fast.
