It may be somewhat of a macabre house to move your family into.
But a buyer has signed a contract to purchase Robert F. Kennedy Jnr's eco-friendly home for close to its full $4 million asking price, it was reported today.
Bobby Kennedy put the Westchester mansion on the market a week ago - just five months after the death of his estranged wife Mary, who hanged herself at a barn on the estate.

(Kennedy) is also believed to have debts to pay off after Mary is said to have spent a fortune gutting the house and making it as eco-friendly as possible.

Pictures show a beautifully decorated home, in muted shades of cream and white, with about 10,000 square feet of living space exquisitely finished using recycled or reclaimed materials, alongside geo-thermal heating and cooling, energy efficient appliances and fibre optic lighting.
Mrs Kennedy had overseen the renovation of the home after it had to be gutted to get rid of a toxic fungus.

Getting rid of her was the best business decision that this toxic fungus ever made!

Mary Kennedy hanged herself in the barn - no problem - raze the barn.
It has seemed to me for a long time that the Kennedys—both men and women, are very akin to rutting dogs.
Between their alcoholism and infidelity, I don’t see much that is good about them.
Do any of them actually work for a living? (Politicking doesn’t count)-—
One of the beauties of FreeRepublic is the information and data that makes James Burke look like God reading to us HIS history.
That house is ugly.

You are probably correct: I just don’t understand the desire to live in a 10,000 sf mansion. It would be like wandering around a museum. The Kennedy’s and their acolytes are Sasquatch hypocrites with their ‘environmental footprints’.
I would live in the house and use the barn. Why waste a perfectly good building?
People die in hospitals every day....we don’t tear those down.
-——Why waste a perfectly good building?-——
Another course would be to build some fences channeling paths to the barn and charge admission to the barn hanging site
is there something wrong with people living in 10,000 sq ft homes and screaming tax the rich?
Geez...no.
Just let the horses and cows use it.
Brilliant observation. People die in houses too - but murder and suicide are considered ‘macabre histories’.
I believe in some jurisdictions you are required to disclose any such histories when listing a house for sale.
That may be, but it wouldn’t stop me from purchasing or using the property.
I don’t believe in “evil spirits” occupying a dwelling....well, except for the White House.....
Biltmore makes a 10,000 square footer look like a tiny cottage by comparison. I can’t imagine what drove George Vanderbilt to think he needed it other than monumental ego.
Oh, that would be her e-STRANGE dirtbag husband, if in fact, he didn't actually do it himself.
I know he is evil he seemed to enjoy the fact she was gone. Every dog has their day.
A form of American Aristocracy in the DNA - a longing to be the King of their Domain.
Not a problem if wealth is earned and opulence is the result. Living large should not be at the expense of tax-payers being forced to subsidize such a lifestyle for elected officials. They are supposed to be our servants!!!
