“Stanford Center on Poverty and Equality”?

Sure sounds like an objective bunch to me.

Yeah, because everybody knows that rich people are stupid, lazy, and don’t have the initiative to relocate to another state. Yeah, right! (And maybe the unicorns at the border will intimidate them into staying.)

Really?

Cuz I’m thinking in a few years of moving to Nevada, Idaho or Utah for that reason, as well the disgust of seeing how many moochers there are in KahLeeFawnEeYuh, the Damned energy rates and if I sat around and thought about I’d come up with a myriad of reasons.

I’ll be traveling a lot in about 5 years and see no reason to have my primary residence in a state that only appreciates takers.

Taxes aren't going to make the rich leave

The socialists in France thought the same way. How's that working out over there??

News flash to leftists - people don't like being taken advantage of. And rich people have options.

My guess is that the smart one’s have already left or figured out how to shelter their money and the stupid one’s are all down in Hollywood, and don’t care because they like the weather!
As far as leaving the country, the Hollywood types always threaten to leave when the Republicans take over, but they all have alligator mouths and hummingbird asses so they never make good on their “threats.” Can you say Alec Baldwin?

Notice that “freedom” isn’t part of their agenda.

Anyone preaching “equality” is inherently anti-liberty.

Millionaires aren’t likely to leave California if taxes are increased...

No, but their earnings will. They will be happy to keep living in California - 182 days a year. :)

Taxes from millionaires; Mental Health Special Tax

Income: 1.5 billion to start
Now .7 billion.

Increase of taxes, decrease in revenue... Decrease in taxes in 1995, immediate increase in revenues for 1996. Same song, different verse.

It will cost me roughly $2500 if these new taxes go into effect (and no, I’m not a millionaire, not even close to pushing into six digits.) That’s also my cost for moving out of state. I can choose to feed that money, year after year, into the maw of California, or I can invest it in moving myself to a far more economically friendly state.

Watch income tax revenues take yet another dive next year.

If they work in Silicon Valley or Hollywood, probably not. There is so much inertia there in those communities and industries, the taxes would have to approach French 75% levels to show much of an effect.

For just about everyone else though its fair game.

” and don’t care because they like the weather!”

Living on the ocean, and deep sea fishing almost kept ME there.

” As far as leaving the country, the Hollywood types always threaten to leave when the Republicans take over”

Actually, I was thinking of wealthy investors, quite a few of which have relocated to Singapore, Australia, and other places where taxes are low, and the business climate is friendly.

Why risk it! My recommendation would be to leave the “millionaires” alone and to tax the heck out of the “Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality”. They don’t seem to mind.
