Looks like the rumors were true, it has to do with the staples guy's divorce.

Outside court Allred said she could only characterize the testimony as “related to Romney’s conduct and interaction w/ the Stembergs”

I KNEW when I woke up this morning I smelled a hint of desperation. Mind you I’m hundreds of miles from MA so it carried a long way.

"The full details of the case and the nature of the hearing could not be learned, but Robert Jones, an attorney at the Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray, who is representing Romney in this matter told TIME in a statement,
This is a decades-old divorce case in which Mitt Romney provided testimony as to the value of a company. He has no objection to letting the public see that testimony. http://thepage.time.com/2012/10/24/always-at-the-end/

Isn’t Maureen Stemberg a “contributor” to Huffington Post who has made many anti-Mormon and other senseless comments? I believe I saw that here yesterday. If that is the case, this is a ridiculous conflict of interest. At least we’re going to find out something about the character of this judge soon enough.
If Allred quickly gets her way today, we’re going to know what’s really going on here. She should have gone into court through a revolving door and come right back out the other side after being told to get lost. So why don’t I think that is what is going to happen?
To: icwhatudo
Who cares?
And it won’t make any difference anyway. People have set their minds and whatever happens won’t change a thing.
Allred is all done.................

BFD, he testified in a divorce case.
Unless Romney testified that he was having an affair with the husband, it’s a big nothing.

This circus is precisely why most non-lawyers treat the entire legal profession with the same respect reserved for child molesters.

Just as I thought. Romney provided expert testimony on a business valuation. It happens in every single divorce case where one party is the sole or part owner of a closely held business. The wife certainly had her own expert also testifying on the same subject. Such testimony consists of balance sheets, pro-formas and past and anticipated earnings. Unless you are an accountant (or one of the parties) it’s the most boring stuff you can imagine. This is a nothingburger.
