A shot across Miss October Surprise’s bow
Legal Insurrection ^ | Posted by William A. Jacobson

Everyone is waiting for October Surprises to be unloaded on Romney.

The Obama campaign and its supporters are desperate, and that desperation will reach a fevered pitch this weekend if Obama doesn’t get a meaningful bounce out of last night’s debate. Few are predicting he will.

I consider this a shot across the bow, a way of letting Obama and a certain female attorney supporter of his in California know that it’s not going to be Meg Whitman again. There will be push back.

The Romney campaign will go there without going there itself.

This isn’t 2008, buddy.

This isn’t 2008 is right. And Romney isn’t John McCain, either.

I think the Obama campaign bumblers vastly underestimated the astuteness and sophistication of the campaign team they were dealing with, and that of the candidate himself. Now it’s too late, or I certainly hope it is.

No, Team-Obama vastly overestimated their own skills and the skills of their candidate.

Look at Obama's election record. This is really the first campaign where he's actually had a decent challenger--not a great one--just a decent one.

It should not be too hard to find some of his old cocaine customers. 0bama probably diluted his product and had unhappy customers. How else could he pay for his habit?

I hate October surprises. I think they are despicable and unethical. Having said this, Romney should have one of his own in the baag in order to retaliate against this nasty opponent. If O lets go with a surprise (. . . one of Cain’s alleged accusers or some fag wearing a beanie in a Maine attic) Romney should fire back with all of the Iowa’s guns!

Not true...but Zero's performance last night does highlight several immutable facts:

1. He's not very astute and finds it difficult to think on his feet....that's why his handlers never let him out without a teleprompter and when he does more often than not sticks his foot in his mouth.

2. Anticipating that Romney would be more aggressive, he was programmed to attack. When Romney wasn't confrontational Zero was confused and didn't know what to do.

3. Unable to call an audible and alter his style at the line of scrimmage he did what he was told to do: attack.

4. As a result he looked more like the challenger than the President and came across shrill, arrogant and condescending.

True in his Senate races (state and fed) he won by having dirt dug up on the other guys brought out at the last minute. In '08 he ran against a hapless bumbler who just wanted to get along with the other side and the press. This time he can't scare independents by saying, "Romney's controlled by the Tea Party" , because the Tea Party by and large are tolerating Mitt just to be rid of Hussein. On top of that, Romney is so squeaky clean even trolls like Axelgrease can't dig up dirt on him. Obama's only play is the race card or some kind of wag the dog type October surprise.

The effect of the T.E.A. party is far more pervasive than has generally been recognized. The mid-term elections of 2010 were not a fluke, it was the beginning of the return swing of the pendulum, and the momentum has not been slowed.

There was a sea change, and it was recognized too late, if at all, by the partisans of the Current Regime, who seem to have no idea that they may have overreached in their zeal to bring centralized health care delivery systems under largely government control. And this vast wealth transfer scheme was instituted at the expense of any other single governmental initiative. There was no reform of any kind, to taxation, or immigration, or judicial review, or general transparency of government operations. Foreign involvements were allowed to fall into disrepair, as if nobody had any clear idea how to conduct international leadership, deferring and bowing to representatives of despotic regimes everywhere, with no vision of the ideal that is America, nor to its destiny as the beacon for all mankind.

We had an experiment, it is over, and the laboratory report indicates that its outcome was unsuccessful. Conclusion: don’t pursue that line of inquiry further, as no useful purpose has been found for the theories tested.

Perhaps the reason there are no past records of any kind for obama is because the FBI put him in its witness protection program for ripping off some organized crime bosses.

Good observation about Team-Romney's skills.

I had a feeling we were in for something good when I found out Romney's folks were behind Scott Brown's Mass Senate campaign.

Some other highlights: the "Obama eats dogs meme;" giving Clint Eastwood center stage and then capitalizing on the empty chair.

BTW, I really liked the Romney on horseback you posted. Was that your work? I doubt that the campaign would go so far, at least officially and at this point, but it is effective.
