Many or most of our universities were started by religious organizations. States came late to the game (but good for them) and set up land grant and other state universities

Apparently I wasn’t really involved in a Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers program for high school students that taught and promoted the idea of students learning robotics. Apparently the companies that fronted this effort with hundreds of thousands of dollars for a single county’s program didn’t acutually do that. Maybe I didn’t personally award a trophy at that contest. Maybe I didn’t provide hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical systems. Or, maybe the president is full of crap. Again.

Obama's 'right'. Who again was the gubmint bureaucrat:
- That invented the Steam Engine.
- That flew a kite in a T-Storm and 'captured electricity'.
- That invented Bifocal Glasses.
- That took that electricity thingy and distributed it to peoples houses.
- That invented the Air Brake for trains.
- That decided to run train tracks all over the Western Plains with those Choo-choo machines on them, bringing civilization to 'The Wild West'.
- That invented the Repeating Rifle. The Revolver. The Machine Gun.
- That invented Air Conditioning.
- That invented the Assembly Line and Mass Production (and Cheaper Prices).
- That basically turned a bicycle shop into an Airplane Factory.
- That invented modern 'Rocketry' (that Robert Goddard somebody iirc. /s)
- And last, but not least; The gubmint bureaucrat who made the first solo airplane flight across the Atlantic Ocean!!
As to education, one could tell when a town in the Old West became civilized when it built two things -- and all by themselves no less: A Church, and a School. And nobody from DC did one tiny thing to help. It was all done by We The People.
Oh ... wait ....??? I guess Obama is not right after all.
(Gee. Who'd a saw that coming /s)

The private sector should withhold all contributions for one week, just to show what happens to all sorts of businesses and organizations. If the Kenyan wins and manages to tax the rich this WILL happen but on a permanent basis. A normal person knows that when one expense (like taxes) goes up you reduce other expenses in order to stay within the budget. Rat morons just don't get it!

The press needs to cover this remark by Obama. It is much worse than President Ford’s statement during a debate in 1976 that the people of Eastern Europe do not feel dominated by the Soviet Union.
