And the server is already getting slow...
Ping for place marker. I have to teach a couple of classes but then I’ll be back in the nick of time!

Apparently also on YouTube:

They also have links to the Al-Jazeera pre-debate show, along with those of WSJ, ABC, Univision, NYT, etc. No FOX news, though (must be an oversight).
Think I’ll watch C-Span.

The system is not handling the increased loads and we do not know why yet. John says the system is not getting overloaded, the db is not overloaded, the cpus are mostly idle, the load averages are low, the db load averages are low, just reaches a point where throughput stalls. Im not a techie and I have no idea how to fix it. I thought maybe we could add another server or more RAM or replace some older servers or something, but I guess John doesnt think that will do it. Theres something wrong in the system software or the configuration but hes having trouble finding it.
And Im really upset too, but theres not a freaking thing I can do about it until John gets it figured out.
Thanks.

More later if we don't crash - One thing - Please watch slow page loads to see if "Google-Analytics" shows as loading as part of the page ... just curious.
Fingers crossed ... ;-)
In for at least one post tonight.
WA Post-ABC tracking poll has Romney up 52-46 in swing states!
I’ll try to catch some of it between the baseball game and football game. I really enjoyed watching CSPAN’s reruns of the 1984 Reagan-Mondale debate (since I missed that one due to traveling) and then they had the Bush-Dukakis debate.
Already sooooo slow.
There’s time to reboot servers, clean out temp files, do whatever is necessary to get this show on the road before 9pm.
Please.
O’s best hope is to drag Romney into a dirtfight, and get him to say something outrageous, or appear petty and vindictive. Romney merely needs to sat above the fray and refuse to be dragged into a brawl. Refuse to go toe to toe, Mitt. Soar high and be Presidential, Mr. Romney and the victory will be yours.
“Brought to you by the letter O....... and the number 16 trillion.”
I think that was my favorite Romney line.
There, I got in before the shutdown and just in case I can’t get back on later, here’s my final evaluation of tonights debate.
-Romney demonstrated command over the subjects. At times Romney was humorous, but at all times he looked presidential. He was nicer than he needed to be and I would have liked it better if he had gone for the throat. Still, Romney won on content and competence. His leadership qualities overwhelmed Obama. At the end of the debate, I saw Romney grin, mostly with his eyes.
-Obama looked both angry and defeated. It’s clear that he knows it’s over, but he will continue to fight. Obama became confused and couldn’t keep track of all of his lies. Obama stammered more tonight than he did during the previous debates. When Obama was leaving the stage, I could see the tears of defeat in his eyes.
Overall, it is clear that Romney won tonights debate and his already storming momentum should overwhelm the Obama team during the next few days. This was clearly a battle between a soon to be ellected president and a failed dictator wannabe.
Michelle looks puffy tonight, perhaps her drinking is finally beginning to take it’s toll. Maybe it’s the stress of the race (no, not her skin color), the knowledge that she will be leaving the White House in shame and her lack of recent lavish vacations that is making her look so prematurely aged.
Ann looked lovely..... a real First Lady and a mother who loves her country.
I wasn’t surprised when Krauthammer droned on about the previous debate, “points, points, points....”. He’s smart, but it looks like he missed this debate, just like the last one.
R&R 2012.....
Obama has gotta go.....

*bump*
I’d like Bob Scheiffer to ask both of them when they think Maalox will be back on store shelves.

If this is in fact to be The thread, perhaps insertion under Breaking is called for ?
I think it's a kinda chickensh!t move myself, but they didn't ask me . . .
I’ll check the thread after the Cardinals-Giants game to see how it went (Hopefully while celebrating a Cardinals win, but that’s another issue)
