It Looks Like We’ve Discovered Gloria Allred’s Romney-Bashing October Surprise
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 10/21/12 | Jim Hoft

On Friday Drudge teased that far left sensationalist Gloria Allred was about to drop a bomb on the Romney Campaign.

Allred has a reputation of dragging perceived female victims in front of the camera as props to bash Republican candidates. In October 2010 Allred dragged out illegal alien Nicki Diaz to attack heartless Meg Whitman. Minaj was upset Whitman didn’t buy her child a present and claimed Meg took advantage of her despite the fact she made a good wage. In November 2011 she dragged out Sharon Bialek who accused Herman Cain of sexual abuse.

So it is likely this year’s October surprise is Carrel Hilton Sheldon, a former Mormon.

The book Horror Stories: Mitt Romney’s Shameful Record with Mormon Women details Mitt Romney’s “psychological intimidation and bullying” during his role as a Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The report describes how Romney “tried to bully” Carrel Hilton Sheldon when she was suffering through a difficult pregnancy into not having an abortion. AlterNet reported:

A far more ominous tale in the Romney canon also took place that summer, one that has been largely swept under the rug as the former governor of Massachusetts challenges incumbent Barack Obama for the presidency. There have been no songs written about it, no cartoons, no gags on late-night television, no magazine covers.

It was in August of that year, shortly after the Romney family returned from their vacation to Lake Huron, that a pregnant woman in her late 30s—Carrel Hilton Sheldon—was informed

I was definitely anti-Romney in the primaries, but think he’s a heck of a lot better than the Marxist alternative.

I hope he’s elected and does well and has plenty of coattails in the house and senate, then I hope he’s pressured from the right to appoint true constitutionalist judges and to clean up the messes that have been made for many years. Yes, I blame multiple administrations and congresses for our troubles. Mostly Democrats, but some Republicans, too.

I think President Reagan signed abortion legislation when he was governor of California.

Just sayin’

So Gloria’s big surprise is something that will endear him to the pro-life, conservative base?

Are you sure she ain’t working for Romney?!

"Are you sure that's what you want?"

You're worried about the Senate? Why is that, in light of the fact that you'll be helping Obama to continue as Commander-in-Chief, destroy our military, allow him and Holder to continue their violations of the Constitution, and promote the destruction of Israel. During the primaries I said I wouldn't vote for Romney if he was the GOP candidate, but in my heart, and mind, I couldn't do that to our military, and decided I had to vote for Romney in an attempt to keep Obama from being re-elected.

If you will take the time to read the actual bill he signed into law, you will find that it allowed abortion in the case where the life of the mother was at stake, as determined by a panel of no less than ten doctors. He later regretted even that, admitting it as his biggest mistake, as he did not anticipate the panel rubber-stamping abortions.

Reagan was always Pro-Life, and it is largely Romney-Bots that bring up this scurrilous charge.

Couldn’t this just as easily work to Mitt’s favor? I see people on this very board questioning whether they can voe for Mitt due to his positions on abortion. Wouldn’t this help ease those concerns to people who vote very much based on this issue?

You're worried about the Senate?

The Senate (and strengthening the House) is where the true battleground lies for Conservatism... not to mention state governorships and state houses.

There is nothing Conservative in electing a liberal Republican.

Why is that, in light of the fact that you'll be helping Obama to continue as Commander-in-Chief, destroy our military, allow him and Holder to continue their violations of the Constitution, and promote the destruction of Israel.

Your position supposes (without any proof) that Romney will do otherwise. The ONLY indicator that stands for Romney is that Bibi likes him. That's it. And there is nothing at all to say that Romney will be of any better value to the Military with the possible exception that he is a CEO type, and MAY defer to top generals... Many of whom, however, are as liberal as he is.

During the primaries I said I wouldn't vote for Romney if he was the GOP candidate, but in my heart, and mind, I couldn't do that to our military, and decided I had to vote for Romney in an attempt to keep Obama from being re-elected.

It is my prediction that you will come to rue the day. A leopard does not change it's spots.

There's no guarantees of anything in life. That "conservative" Senate candidate could turn out to be another Justice Roberts, or any other Republican who has chosen to work with the Dems. The only thing I'd regret down the road is not trying to get rid of Obama now. We know what his agenda is. I'd rather vote against an horrendous agenda I know will continue with Obama, than not vote because I assume something that hasn't happened yet. That's the difference between you and me.

Yeah, maybe he held her down and cut her hair. I'm sure whatever it is, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans. That's what Allred thrives on, baseless scandals.

How does that type of breach of top secrets by a POTUS make him seem like someone we’d want to vote for? They might leave the “slip” up to Joe, now that would make sense :)

You didn’t say anything correct, you seem determined to not acknowledge or know the correct, that is why you ignored the post.

We know without question that Mitt spent his life being pro-abortion, the videos of his statements and debates and Planned Parenthood photo tells us that, he tells us that he became pro-abortion in 1963, and he praises his mother for having the courage to be pro-abortion in 1970 as a Senate candidate, even after claiming to have switched, in August he returned to health of the mother abortion, and rejected the GOP pro-life platform.

Does Mormon leader Mitt want Mormon children aborted? No.

I am not a Romneybot in the least. He was my next to the last choice. But it is what it is. It will either be Romney or Obama.

I have read the bill.I don’t doubt that Reagan had regrets when he signed it into law and then saw how it was abused. But it really isn’t a “scurrilous charge” nor is it untrue. At one time Reagan said abortion wasn’t his central focus (not verbatim but I will find the exact quote if you need it).

The point being, the subject of this thread is about a possible charge from Allred about how Romney discouraged a parishoner from abortion. Perhaps Romney’s personal beliefs on the subject aren’t that far off base.

I heard an interview with Michael Reagan a couple of months ago. He said one thing that has stuck with me...”We weren’t looking for RR when we found him.”

I don’t think Romney is another Reagan. Those are pretty large boots to fill. Sadly I fear we may not have another. The times are very different.

My prayer is that Romney can beat Obama. I know for a fact what he is and represents.

(BTW, your down ticket votes are very important.)

Which is a lie and you know it. The 9th Commandment is not a suggestion. Bearing False Witness is a sin. So clean up your filthy act hypocrite before having the arrogance to lecturing anyone else on moral issues.

Reagan was always pro-life, unlike Mitt Romney who was always pro-abortion.

There was never a time when Reagan was pro-abortion, although Romney has spent 5 years trying to create that myth, in an attempt to weaken revulsion at his own very public and powerful commitment to abortion.
