U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is leading Democratic challenger Jim Graves heading into the final weeks of the campaign, according to a new poll commissioned by the Star Tribune.
Bachmann, who is waging one of the most expensive House campaigns in the nation against a political newcomer, is favored by 51 percent of likely voters in Minnesota's sprawling Sixth Congressional District, which stretches from west of St. Cloud into Woodbury. Another 45 percent would choose Graves, a St. Cloud native and owner of Graves Hospitality Corp., an expansive hotel chain. Four percent of voters are undecided.
The Oct. 16 poll conducted for the Star Tribune by Pulse Opinion Research sampled 1,000 likely voters in the Sixth and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Over 50% is always good!
If they don’t get her this time, they’ll gerrymander her district to contain as many Eric Holder’s people as possible.
Thanks Oldeconomybuyer.
I live in the Muslim’s district but have always donated to Michele even though she does not appear to need my help (raised $4-million in September). Her reelection is imperative. Graves is disgustingly smarmy, but he is learning that nobody campaigns harder than Michele.
Graves owns an “expansive” hotel chain. What is that?
the fly was a nice touch!
AmericInn and Le Meridien
In 2001 my home was pushed out of the 6th District into the 4th (Betty McCollum), and I eventually moved to get back into it. But in 2011 I was again pushed into the 4th. I can't win. :-)
I know he owns Graves 101 in downtown Minneapolis, a very expensive hotel.
Political representation is a good thing to question a realtor about. If they feel like they’re losing business due to democrats, they’ll also begin to apply pressure to keep republicans in control.
Let me guess...Rat legislature and Governor?
Gerrymandering has already been completed for the next ten years. Bachmann’s residence was gerrymandered out of her district.
Any updates/polls on Craavack..He’s a good guy, hope he can hold on..
Let me guess...Rat legislature and Governor?Actually, Republican legislature, both houses. Bachmann has, IIRC, the "reddest" district in the state. Those numbers are pretty close to McCain's results in 2008 in that district. She won 52-40-8 in 2010 in the "old" district in a 3-way race.
There’s a SurveyUSA poll from about a week-and-a-half ago that has it Nolan 46, Cravaack 45. It’s tight. There’s a lot of SuperPAC money coming in from out of state for Cravaack, though.

Regrettably, she has to run hard because it appears that the National Republican Committee and the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee have turned their backs on helping her campaign financially. That's supposedly because she and a few other congressional Republicans exposed some of the influence of Islamist extremists in the Obama Administration.
Good to see her leading in her tough race.
