OPINION: Mitt Romney for president (Pittburgh Tribune Review)
Pittburgh Tribune Review ^

It sounds cliched, but it is a truism: America is at a crossroads. It can continue down the path of Leviathan government and an increasing dependence on it, or America can return to the path of limited government and the kind of prosperity-producing independence on which the Founders based this great republic.

I assume this is a conservative newspaper. Words and phrases like "limited government," "independence," "great republic," and particularly "Founders," are just not part of the Leftist lexicon.

Tis the Season for Selling Lies

Peter Farrara’s recent column in Forbes is a superb expos’e of some of the major lies that comprise the bulk of Obama’s campaign rhetoric. It is a deceitful and divisive campaign that relies on the ignorance of his prospective voters. A case can be made that some of the lies are really a reflection of the economic ignorance of the President himself, and therefore not technically lies … though still not excusable. Read it and see what your think. Here is an excerpt:

But the Obama fallacy most harmful to the nation, perpetuated in the debate, is the fundamentally false narrative and conception regarding the American tax system: that the rich do not pay their fair share. The truth is that the rich pay more than their fair share, particularly in regard to federal income taxes, where upper income earners pay, in fact, essentially all of the federal income tax burden.

The CBO reported earlier this year that in 2009, the year Obama entered office, the top 1% of income earners paid 39% of all federal income taxes, while earning just 13% of the income. That was more than double the 17.6% of federal individual income taxes paid by the top 1% when President Reagan entered office in 1981.

CBO further reported that in 2009 the top 20% of income earners, those earning more than $74,000, paid 94% of federal individual income taxes. That was 85% more, almost double, the share of national income they earned.

In sharp contrast, in that same year, the middle 20% of income earners, the true middle class, paid 2.7% of total federal individual income taxes on net, while earning 15% of before-tax income. And the bottom 40% of income earners, instead of paying some income taxes to support the federal government, were paid by the IRS cash equal to 10% of federal individual income taxes on net.

Yep, they picked Mitt but the low life pricks backed demonRAT,lil bobby casey for senator because he is congenial towards Pat Toomey.

casey is a congenital liar, never goes to work and is just another vote for dirty harry.

PA should go for Tom Smith for senator, Romney/Ryan and Paul can use my tree stand in November.

The Trib is Pittsburgh’s Washington Times. The Post-Gazette, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Obama-sucking Rooney family, will no doubt endorse Obama.

The Trib also picked RINO Romney in the primaries instead of a real conservative.

The paper isn't all that conservative, but certainly better than that cat box liner, the Post Gazette.

The Trib recently endorsed Casey, for US Senate. It’s typically more conservative, but the Casey endorsement stunned a lot of readers.

Thanks for the ping.

TheTrib, by their own advertising admissions, “leans right” so endorsing Romney makes sense...what doesn’t make ANY sense is they alao endorsed the “invisible” Bobby Casey for US Senate. Casey was the ORIGINAL OBOT here in PA as he could not wait to endorse Duh Won back in 08. Buh-Rock’s “present” votes made Casey’s dim awareness of the world around him seem “normal” at the time. Casey has been a rubber stamp for all things Obama, any whim of Harry Reid’s as well as ALL big gov’t bills and AGAINST everything in the best interest of PA...yet he too was endorsed. Seemingly bi-polar.

Good news, but I am not holding my breath until the Philadelphia Inquirer endorses Romney. To tell you the truth, i think very few people will change their vote based on a newspaper endorsement.

The vast legions of Dead, Bussed-In & Illegal Voters here in Pa, sure won’t. Philly will still vote at 116% of registered dems, and probably so will Pitt.

Nothing new here, Tribune Review is the right leaning paper in SWPA.

Now if the Post Gazette were to endorce Romney, you know its over for Obama.

Given Ann was here last week, Ryan over the weekend and Bolton coming too... It looks like Romney is at least keeping the ground game going, but still not seeing any ads...though admittedly wasn’t watching TV all weekend. I know PA can be won, but not sure it can be done without ads on the air.

If PA is won even without major ads on the air, then you are going to see states NO ONE is even talking about that everyone thinks are completely safe for Obama falling.

Given the action in PA, I think its pretty clear Romney camp knows its over, and they have it won.
