The women’s movement seemed to have a very flawed goal from the get-go. Yes, women working outside the home sounded good, but then they also picked the absolute worst behaviors of men, and tried to mirror them as if all men had been exhibiting those behaviors.
“Some almost exclusively single” guys used to go to strip shows. The guys who did were highly regulated as to what they could or couldn’t do. “You can’t touche the women.” All off a sudden it was suddenly cool if all women were to engage in that behavior. They WERE NOT regulated in what they could do in those places. “You can stuff those dollars anywhere you like and touch anything you like.” And in this instance, suddenly it was even kosher for married women and Moms to participate. My God, what a great example for daughters. /s
It was a real mess. Thankfully that seems to have died off somewhat.
To your point, you’re exactly right. The movement was very detrimental to women. It fostered an atmosphere that was very destructive IMO.
Going to these places was more or less men’s dirty little secret. With women, it was so cool to say you participated in. Very strange.
