On Thursday, President Obama & Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will give keynote speeches at the 67th Annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York City. The fundraiser, held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, will offer a light-hearted evening for the candidates.
Past speakers at the dinner include politicians, journalists, and presidential candidates including former Pres. George H. W. Bush & Michael Dukakis in 1988; Al Gore & Jack Kemp in 1996; and Pres. Obama and then-Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain in 2008.
Founded in 1946 by Francis Cardinal Spellman, the Foundation honors the memory of Alfred E. Smith who died in in 1944. Smith was a four-time governor of the state of New York and former presidential candidate.
Someone PLEASE post the video of Romney and Obama as soon as it’s uploaded. I missed it and want to see!
Bingo.. Very Dennis Miller-esque.
That guy as an unaccountable lame duck for three months scares the piss out of me.
Is that Walter Mondale on the right two rows back?
By the way, where's Mooch? (I may have missed the reason up thread.)
They put all the pro-abortion folks together. Curic, Matthews and OB right on front of him.
It sounded like things he would say!
Romney REALLY REALLY is very funny! You will absolutley laugh and smile! He was great!
I didn’t see Mondale - but I saw Chris Mathews back there.
I see Dennis Miller’s hand in these jokes too. Really good and well delivered!
Romney killed it!! He was soo funny!
You are correct. Is it too much to ask for Speaker Boehner and the House to hold him in line during the Lame Duck congress? They can’t control Executive Orders but they better do better than the 2010 Lame Duck session. That was a disaster.
Obama is good but Romney was better. Does this count as a debate, sort of?
Classy statements by the prez at the end.
Advantage Romney — to the extent that there’s an advantage to be had from this.
BTW, the site is crashing on a 125 post thread? Either FR is being attacked or something is seriously wrong in the srver situation.
I plan to watch again . . . watched from Hannity tonight. Romney was excellent. So funny.
Hmmm, seeing a couple of Obama’s lines in print and they’re not bad at all.
But hearing them they were awful.
Guess there’s no way to write jokes for someone that wooden.
Excellent digs at Obama Mitt.
When you go to the link it says that a tape will be available shortly. I made the mistake of checking C-Span on my TV too late. Hillary was on one channel and Obama was campaigning on another. Yuk!
If this was 50 years ago we’d be saying Romney was like George Bruns and Obie was Gracie...
