But when he was asked a question about Pres. Obama's response to the murders by an al Qaeda affiliate in Benghazi, Mr. Romney completely got flustered by an outright lie by Mr. Obama.
Mr. Obama falsely said that he had called the murders in Benghazi a terrorist act the day after September 11. Gov Romney was seemingly bewildered about what to say. Mr. Obama further told the outrageous untruth that in a democracy, the President should not be criticized over a defense/foreign policy disaster.

Two things on this:
Romney had his, “you’re damn right I ordered the code red!” on this one, and he was genuinely shocked by Obama’s lie/admission that it was terrorist attack.
Secondly, Romney was at a complete disadvantage when Candy opened her mouth and out popped the big fat lie claiming Obama was correct, (which we now know was wrong - according to Candy herself).
Romney was put in the bad position of calling them both liars, (which they are).
In the light of day, and in the re-reading of the transcripts, Obama got caught and Romney was once again proven correct in many of his points from the debate.
“I saw Romney NOT get cowed by Obama’s theatrical “outrage”
I saw the same thing. Romney was incredulous that obama was standing in front of millions of people, being called out on his bald-faced lie, and yet he stood his ground, attempting to rewrite history the way he wanted it to read.
Romney obviously wanted to get obama on record, with no doubt remaining to the American people of what obama was claiming.
I didn’t understand when all the pundits were saying Romney stumbled and missed the moment.
They’re the professionals at this? Not hardly.
I have never seen a man lie so shamelessly, arrogantly as Obama did last night. Like when Obama was so emotionally offended and tried to intimate Romney on whether Obama was playing politics on Libya. Romney was probably trying to keep up with Obama’s fantasy world enabled by the biased moderator.
Obama knows his followers are liars - just like he is - and he knows every thug in every prison is for him... his kind don't object to lies. And Romney? He was probably blown away the a man who's President of the United States could be such a lowlife. I felt the same about Nixon - and Nixon's lying doesn't hold a candle to Obama's lies...
Damn powerful....huh?
I absolutely agree and I told the author of it, zencycler, that it would be great in a video format posted on Youtube. He has stated that he put this out in the spirit of fair use and encouraged others to use it where ever they like. I don't make videos but anyone who does should take this and run with it.
Romney was not flustered by what Obama said. Romney was trying to get Obama to confirm what he had just said, in a step-by-step fashion. Romney was slowly building the case against Obama in the debate using Obama's words just spoken, when Crowley stopped Romney in mid-thought.
It might look like Romney was flustered, but he was stopped cold by the moderator. Twice before, Crowley had stopped Romney in mid-thought saying that "he'd get his chance later."
"Later" never came.

I thought Romney handled Libya and the entire foreign policy topic excellently.
Obama looked like a boob. His faux outrage was a piece of red meat for the useful idiots...no one else was fooled.
I’m jealous! ;^)
Candy was handy to Censor Mitt,
No apologies there, not one little bit!
Keep Obama afloat was her duty charge,
Keep censoring Romney and make Obama look fit!
The Censoring Liberal Agenda Media (CLAM)
Will give Crowley her reward,
The First Woman Referee in Presidential Town Hall,
Proudly, so proudly kept Obama from a bad fall.
And now the CLAM workers,
And all Axelrods men
Will spin Democrat glue
Over Obamas thin skin.
Romney wasn’t befuddled.
He knew that the vast majority of the voters had heard the endless cries about a “spontaneous demonstration” and that Obama’s lie was hanging there in the air like a cheese fart.
>> “Probably what flustered him was that he knew he couldnt jump up and shout YOU LIE! like he wanted to.” <<
.
But he didn’t need to!
He knew that everyone knew that the liar was lying.
Look at what a big gaffe it has turned into for Obama; he handled it perfectly.
At this point the world knows the usurper is just trying to hide the facts surrounding the jihadist nature of Islam. What troubles me is the tens of millions of dopes that will still vote for him in November. So many totally selfish people who want free stuff.
Romney seemed to think that he might have been mistaken or misremembering what Obama said in his speech the day after the attacks. Romney did try to say how Ambassador Rice went on the talk shows talking about the video after that, but Cowley started to talk over him and get him to stop talking.
I was also disappointed Romney didn’t defend his remarks on 9/12 defending free speech. He should have brought up that mealy-mouthed press release by the Egyptian embassy and said it’s unamerican to apologize for free speech. To me that statement is still the most offensive part of the Obama administration’s reaction to the attacks. I think it’s more effective to go after that statement and to criticize the lack of security beforehand than it is to parse how the Obama administration characterized the attacks as terrorism, a protest, or whatever. Obama’s always going to be able to frame it as they were “gathering the intel” to find out what really happened, and without iron-clad proof that they had a plot to deceive, we can’t refute that successfully.
>> “I missed the “stumble” all these people are talking about.
I thought Romney handled Libya and the entire foreign policy topic excellently.” <<
.
Same here! - He was perfectly incredulous, and that was the correct place to be. Obama has totally stepped in it.
Free Stuff....that’s the ticket...
Keep up the effort. I do not make videos, either; but the more exposure, the better.
I don’t know what’s up either, what’s up. Romney did very well, and he’ll do even better in the last debate knowing now all the Obummer lines related to foreign policy, and having an excellent memory for facts numbers and quotes.
I don't think you should be concerned that Romney didn't strike as hard as you would have liked in the debate. He has the next debate to do that and it would look bad if he did that in every face to face with him. It is also something that might work better in targeted ads instead of a nationally televised debate. I don't know if he'll do it but he can eviscerate 0bungles where he needs to sway votes the most.
Best Zero can do is a wag the dog missile strike in Libya...but he'll be scared becasue that would make him look worse IMO so close to the election.
