This has never been mentioned before. It is an admission that they knew of the coordinated attack and it now makes sending Ambassador Rice to the Sunday talk shows to promote the video hoax and his statement about the video when he spoke at the U.N. even more disgusting.
Apology for being wrong with a Benghazi fact-check is one thing, but it is the minor apology.
The major apology issued by Candy Crowley should be for “entering the debate”. Had she said, “Gov Romney, your time’s up.”, then it would have been related to process.
However, she — the moderator — got involved in the debate itself, commenting on the words of one candidate to his detriment and to the benefit of the other. She, the referee, decided to tackle the guy who had the ball. That isn’t just wrong about facts. It is unprofessional, and one can even argue , since she was wrong in her correction, that her intervention was unethical.
