Basic Training: Engaging the enemy on the Digital Battlefield
Listen up people, we are only a few short weeks out from the most important election in the history of our nation. We are truly at a ‘tipping point’ – the Socialists almost have a voting majority of leaches and Obamacare will soon be implemented. If they manage to cling to power a few more years your vote will soon be meaningless.
It is time for us to close with the enemy and destroy them on the digital battlefield - the ‘blogosphere’ (Rhetorically of course).
As in everywhere else we have a battle between two competing visions of the future – one of growth, freedom and liberty and another of decline, slavery and socialism.
And as on other battlefields, the digital realm has its front lines, ‘Forward’ areas {in more ways than one} and it’s rear echelon. The major difference is that it’s difficult to determine these areas.
For simplicity sake we’ll define the front lines as those Web sites where the forces of good and evil [sorry.. Right and Left] are at parity. Further back from the ‘front’ we have sites that have fewer and fewer Leftist-Socialists {that really has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?}
For all intents and purposes, this site would have to be considered behind the lines – there generally doesn’t seem to be too many Leftists around here trying to spew their bilge. Cesspools like DU would have to be consider the Left’s rear en… area.
Okay, so how do we know what is happening in this battle space?
Good question – I’m glad I asked it.
There are a number of good news compilation sites that provide an overview of the blogosphere – including the Leftist parts (just look for the “Barf Alert” postings). But for the purpose of taking them on and hitting them in their rear echelon, this is one of the best:

As it describes itself, It’s a one page ‘automated news curation service which tracks political news and current events’
Think of it as a digital map of the changing battle space.
The main part of the page has what they call their ‘Top Items’ – stories that are active on the web at the present time and in order of what they deem to be important. This is essentially a listing of what is generating the most ‘ buzz’ in the blogosphere at the moment.
Each of these items will be a main story with ‘discussion’ sites below it in a listing of links to the main item.
Bigger stores will have ‘Related’ items below it with their own discussion links.
The importance of a particular story can quickly determined by the number of discussion links and related items. And it’s ideological inclination can be discerned by who is linking to the story.
The axiom that birds (Big or otherwise) of a feather flock together is applicable here. Example: a far left outfit like ThinkOppression [Thinkprogress] aggregating with a bunch of others provides an indication that it’s a pro-socialist story.
Conversely, a story from a more objective or right news source will garner a discussion listing from other right minded places.
Studying who links and discusses what should provide valuable insight as to what is happening on the web at any given time.
New items are listed in a box at the top of the page on the right. It will list the latest 5-6 new items the page has found and the timing of when it found it - not necessarily when the items was posted at their original source.
Finally, the bottom of the page will have two boxes labeled ‘More Items’ and ‘Earlier Items’ which should more or less be self-explanatory.
These ‘news curation’ pages also have a ‘reverse chronological’ page that lists the items that it’s posted in reverse item order if one needs to look back a day or two for an item they may have missed and a ‘Leaderboard’ of it’s top sources.
Fortunately and unfortunately it generally has a leftward tilt to what the software thinks is important.
Fortunately because it is a quick way to knowing what the enemy is up to at the moment and unfortunately because it can be very disconcerting at times seeing the Lunatic Left’s skewed view of the world. ---- Now that we know where to find them, let’s go over the basics of dealing with their socialist spew.
Those of you who frequent this site should be familiar with the basics of online commenting, but for the sake of completeness, we’ll go through some of the basics of blogging.
Search engines are a basic tool to find the resources and research the lies from the left, best practices dictate use of a search engine that has some minimal privacy features:

Pseudonyms.
The first rule of bloging should be that one should avoid saying or providing any kind of identical features. Always be mindful of the words of Thomas J (Stonewall) Jackson: “Always mystify, mislead and surprise the enemy.”
Be truthful by simply not divulging details. Avoid discussing who you are, where you are, etc. leaving them as a mystery.
A screen or user name should be as anonymous as possible.
There are several very good reasons for this – first of all, it’s akin to the shoot and scoot principal in artillery units – That in not providing the enemy anything they can target. Follow the Miranda warning where possible: “Anything You Say Can And Will Be Used Against You”
Example: implying or stating that one is from Iowa will yield attacks for being a hick or a hayseed, etc.
It’s also very useful to ‘Time Shift’ when posting online. Given that most people follow a normal daylight schedule, one can mask one’s geographic location by simply being active at times other than the normal waking hours in their particular time zone. Someone residing in the East can delay when the normally post to make the impression they reside in the central or mountain time zones for example.
A random pseudonym also lets someone abandon an old name and adopt a new one – something that should be done periodically.
And it’s always useful to use a different Pseudonym for the different forums one may frequent to keep the other side guessing.
And not to get all ‘black helicopter’, but there is that consideration of the government looking over everyone’s shoulder.
Obtaining an online identity should be as random and unconnected from someone’s off-line persona as is humanely possible.
There are a number of sites for attaining these randomized identities and other ‘details’ to get one started:

Why use such a site? Simply because most people aren’t as random as they may think. These systems take even unconscious tendencies out of the equation.
A separate e-mail address is also very useful for some of the same reasons listed above. Most sites will require an e-mail address to confirm a login, etc.

Provides a random e-mail for literally 10 minutes. (the time can be extended)
The down side is that a number of places have blocked the use of these sites – but it’s worth a try none the less.
G-mail or Hotmail also have separate and anonymous addresses available in setting up a randomized identity account.
Proxies
A proxy service is very useful in avoiding the complications of a direct connection. A cesspool like DU makes one want to take a digital shower after dealing with it’s unhinged denizens.
Also, given that the Left likes to pretend to be the “Guarantors” free-speech, they will often ban an IP address simply for expressing a contrary thought to their vaunted worldview – they like to be real ‘Liberal’ in that regard.
There are a number of proxies around the web along with TOR, that even has it’s own browser that makes the process easier. The downside is that they slow a connection down quite a bit.

A couple of quick notes on tactics and methods that will be continued in a later posting. This discussion has a coupe of little ‘shots’ directed at the leftists (forces of good and evil and the like).
These were included partially to frame the discussion in the proper light but also act as a bit of ‘fly-paper’. These are Items leftist can’t resist attacking with their inane talking points and are easy to smack down in response when they get all Huffy about their use.
Those are the basics in dealing with the left online – given the state of our nation it would be a very good idea to support your fellow Conservatives in fighting the good fight and in spreading the word.
It’s also loads of fun to shred the leftist’s silly little nonsensical talking points with truth and logic and rhetorically hitting back at the them in their cozy lairs.

The US govt does not have a monopoly on computer/network/security whizzes.

I work in Internet and security is a really big problem in our field.
In particular for clients who are banks using Fednet(like they have a choice) and hospitals.
I don’t have any nuclear labs or plants but that would be kewel.

Actually, I’ve been around here quite a few years – I just change names periodically to protect my innocence.
Part of my point is to take the fight to the enemy – the places where they try to dominate the discussion and destroy their little worldview and talking points, not just FR.
Places like: Prairie Weather, The Daily Beast, Politico, Mediaite, BuzzFeed, etc. to name a few.
Their dear leader has been shown to be an empty suit – it’s time push them back where they belong.
