And yes I'd rather have the commie crook for this reason. The commie crook is in my neighbors house while if Akin wins the a-hole would be in my house. Every senator counts. One Senate seat might make the difference between bad legislation passing or not, or some commie being appointed to the Supreme Court. One unfortunate remark should not be a big issue.

If Akin wins, for the first time in my life, I will be embarassed to be a republican.
Lefties and criminals like Nelson Rockefeller, Lowell Weicker, George Ryan, John Warner, Dede Scozzafava, Chuck Percy, Christine Todd Whitman, John Rowland, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mitt Romney don't embarrass you but conservative Todd Akin does? For a mis-statement that he took back and apologized for?
You might be more at home with the organizations supported by Christine Todd Whitman's IMP-PAC, which was allied with "is allied with the Republican Main Street Partnership, The Wish List, the Republican Majority for Choice, Republicans for Choice, Republicans for Environmental Protection and the Log Cabin Republicans." and is now merged with the Republican Leadership Council PAC. They are embarrassed by conservatives, too.

I would rather have a candidate who may occasionally put his foot in his mouth than a candidate who continually puts her hand in my pocketbook. Any day.
I’m proud to be a conservative. You can have the Republican party.

Not a fan of Akin as a politicians, in that he has serious foot-in-mouth disease, but he is principled.
That’s huge.
Be funny if he wins, just to stick it to the GOPe — Cornyn, in particular.

I keep coming back to the MO referendum, when 70%+ voted against Obamacare..Seems to me that all Akin has to do is keep hanging her vote for Obamacare around her neck.and Claire's toast.
Anyone have polls on the MO governor's race?

I'd rather have the commie crook ... The commie crook is a package deal. No additional charge, it comes with a much more likely Reed (sick) leading the Senate agenda, rather than a chance to have a conservative (or failing that, mcconnell) as Majority leader.
McCackle must go!

I will be so proud if Akin wins! he bucked the establishment more than once and he is the very type of candidate I have fought to win elections.
Akin voted against the Wall Street Bailouts; against Cash for Clunkers; Against Leave No Child Behind; against the Stimulus; for a Balanced Budget Amendment; A rating with the National Rifle Association; 100% with the American Conservative Union. GOOOOOOOOOOO AKIN!

Akin said something mind numbingly STUPID.
He took it back.
It’s the subject matter that makes a lot of people cringe. I cringe at it.
However, Claire is an Obamacare toadie and a lot worse. The people of America do not deserve obamacare and cap and trade and taxes out the wazoo and a crippled economy and loss of our freedoms, just so you can feel better that Repubs (your house?) didn’t elect Akin while Claire can be hung around the Dems neck.
You must not have gotten the memo. Our country is at stake. We MUST>>>>>MUST>>>>>MUST!!!! have the Senate. There is no alternative if our country is to live.
Nobody attacked Akin’s stupid remarks more than I did. Nobody.
But I said even back then, as disgusted and angry as I was, that if I were in MO I would still support him against Claire.
For my country.

If Akin wins, for the first time in my life, I will be embarassed to be a republican.I'll be happy- it means that for the first time, a media matters orchestrated attack on a republican didn't work. Their power is waning and just might be at an end.
To: Perdogg
I've said it before- Todd Akin is like that soldier who groggily stumbles out of his foxhole at 2 A.M. to take a leak, wanders in the direction of the enemy, and stumbles over a tripwire. You know the guy screwed up, but you still lay covering fire for him and help him any way you can...who knows? He might just take the enemy machine gun nest.
