Washington (CNN) – After near-universal bad reviews of his first presidential debate with Mitt Romney, President Barack Obama will bring more energy and passion to his second showdown with the GOP nominee, advisers to the president said Sunday.
Yet the come-out-swinging attitude many Democrats crave could be hindered by the debate's town hall format, which requires a likability factor not completely compatible with aggressive attacks.

If Obama gets angry, and that is a real possibility, he loses. All those years of radicalism are still inside him, buried, but not too deeply. He’s thin-skinned. He feels persecuted. He’s on the defensive. He doesn’t have his TelePrompTer.
But the biggest problem he has... the one that is taking the worst toll... is that his record is a total bust. It cannot be defended, but he has to try.
Now, Romney knows all that. I would be very surprised if Mitt’s debate prep has not included studying one or two psychiatric profiles of Obama. What’s more, whether he uses the eligibility issues or not, I am sure he has examined the evidence quite closely, and in consultation with legal experts.
IF somehow, a related question on eligibility were to be slipped into the Townhall pack, the results could be very interesting...
I am more impressed than ever with Romney’s sheer brainpower. We shall see...
I truly believe Romney will be ready for that scenario.

Romney needs to be ready for the 47%. Bring up O’s bitter clingers remark 75% Christian + 30% gun owners = 105%.
And I think he needs to watch for an ambush on “the details”. They keep hammering him on that. Did O give Obamacare and bailout details in 2008?
